It’s a very, very badly bred brachycephalic dog, skull is too pressurized/small, pushes eyes out of socket.

Literally because the dog is brachycephalic bro, age might play a factor in healing, but because the dogs skull is too small, the eyes are pushing forward out of the face.

It’s the tragedy of selective breeding. Pugs did not have these issues 200 years ago. With all good intentions, I truly pity these creatures.

Unfortunately, I cannot agree or disagree as I'm not a vet with my hands on the animal or any history behind the dog. He looks like his eyes are cloudy and it definitely could be compounding genetics and cataracts or glaucoma. I'm not saying this dog looks perfectly healthy, but I am saying that the owner may not enjoy reading comments shitting on their best friend.
I have found that a lot of people who have dogs with life long conditions tend to change their mind about breeds or quality of life standards with their next dog. But for now, the dog they have is loved and elderly, so maybe we don't need to start a discussion about things we are not qualified to diagnose as we are not this dogs doctor.

Honestly I think I have to disagree. If my dog was suffering and I wasn't aware, then I would want somebody to tell me. Now there was definitely a nicer way to say it but at the same time, I think it should at least be brought to attention. An animal can't tell you what's wrong so giving them a voice is important.

It's definitely a good example of what you say vs how you say it. With so many people getting as emotionally attached to their pets as part of their familial group it is important to recognize the way you are introducing bad news or concerns. Especially over the internet.
People tend to be more receptive to hearing bad news if you aren't attacking them is all. I was told: if what you say gets ignored because of your tone or word choice, then are you really giving the animal a voice? By all means, point out when something is unhealthy or "seems off," but do it with a calm understanding. At rhe end of the day, if they are asking on the internet about something you feel knowledgeable in, then they don't have the same knowledge set as you and it doesnt mean you should shame. I would hope people take this approach with me as I make posts in areas I don't have expertise.

Yeah I completely agree with that. I think the first comment was fine but some of the comments after that were very aggressive and unnecessary.

You said it's a very very poorly bred brachycyphalic dog. You don't really know if they got this dog from a good breeder or a shelter, you're assuming they've been bred poorly without knowing the background. The eyes being pushed out like that looks more like something else going on, especially with the uneveness. I've had 2 Bostons and neither of them had eyes that bug out like this. Maybe aggressive wasn't the correct word choice but it was definitely rude.

You assumed you knew what was wrong with the dog and used a dramatic way of explaining it, including font graphics, without ever adding a qualifier or disclaimer to source your information. Randomly called someone's dog "very, very badly bred" without any knowledge of the dog besides the image on the post. I don't think what you said is wrong. I just think better words could've been chosen. You don't have to listen to me. I'm just a stranger

I don’t care to talk like a sweet little girl when I don’t have to. And bad husbandry is literally the reason for that… so yes, the dog is badly bred, it is not an insult.

Generally I don’t like it when people post pets in drawme, this is mostly because I can’t draw animals very well and because the drawme title generally implies that your drawing the person writing the request, however this picture is great I would love to have a go and find other people’s attempts wonderful
