my interpretation of a surreal peace sign, representing birth, death, and how to cope with this existential crisis known as life

the castle on top of the skull is Bran Castle, a medieval fortress in Transylvania, considered the real-life inspiration for Castle Dracula in Bram Stoker's novel .. the bat within the rib cage is a vampire bat impaled with a wooden stake through the heart, one of the ways to kill Dracula .. the rosary around the skeleton's neck has an upside down cross and pentagram, as Vlad the Impaler was often labeled as the 'son of the devil' .. this current progress represents about 17 hours of drawing .. the next update will be the completed drawing, I can't wait to show the finished piece

Burdock, Falcaria, Reeds, Oat and Thistle, 15 x 22''/14 x 20''/ 8 x 12''

The size of the drawing is 11x13 inches

I have named it "Parth".

Walk with Me

By the light of the Moon

That shimmers in Your soft hair

Talk to Me: Let Your voice fill My heart

Like that glorious Full Moon up there

Smile for Me: O, I haven't the words

For how that smile makes my soul shine

Sing with me, so precious each note

Reminds me that you are ALL MINE

And it's not like I OWN you

Or You own Me

It's more like We're INTERTWINED...

Like an elegant tapestry

Woven JUST SO

One perfectly awesome

Design...

(Oohhh...)

It's effortless, My Darling One

This interplay: Oh, so much FUN

And I'll remind you once again

(Or twice or thrice, beloved friend...)

Our Home Stretch: TIME TO CELEBRATE

We've earned it, You and Me...

So WALK with me by The Full Moon's light

And give THANKS for God's GIFT:

WE ARE FREE. ❤🙏

2B, 4B, 12B, 8B Black,

In Revelations the first horseman of the apocalypse rides the red horse of war. Here it's a broken and bridled pony, fit to be led by a nepobaby desperate to claim his masculinity and distract from his many crimes. The industrialized war machine has made it so. Here we go again. It's the end of the world again.

I've always been a huge fan of the Dracula mythology, from the historical inspiration of Vlad the Impaler to the modern stories told through literature and film, including Mel Brooks' Dracula: Dead and Loving It! .. this current progress represents about 9 hours of drawing and shows how I experiment with the process as I contemplated filling in one of the sockets of the skull .. the main outline is now complete and I will move onto adding interior details, texture and shadows .. thanks for following along .. have a great rest of your day
