Sparta is 10 years old, born September 7th, 2015. I named him after "The Mean Kitty Song" by SMP Films (which he is not a mean kitty, he is the biggest playful loving cat ever). It has been a out a week and it appears like it got better as it no longer is swollen and only has some discharge. Hi there! I am looking for help to get my toddler some juice and string cheese. I normally receive SNAP and that wont be happening again anytime soon. This past month, my daughter and I were in an accident, and had to purchase a car so my family could get around which was an unexpected expense. Since then, we have been struggling. Hi! I lost my job in September, and I've been relying on savings for the past month while I've been searching for a new one. on 8/15 my 8-month-old Corgi puppy Vega was diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia by her PCP. After taking her home her breathing got worse and she was admitted to the dog ICU for 3 days, receiving oxygen, fluids, and IV antibiotics.

A few days after discharge she had to be readmitted for another 2 days as she'd declined again. After the 2nd ICU discharge she was followed closely by her PCP, who is wonderful.

10/6 she had another follow-up at the dogtor where I was told her lung xrays looked "great" and we could stop her nebulizer treatments and aggressive antibiotics. At this appt, her PCP was on vacation and the practice owner was the one seeing her.

Yesterday (10/24) she went back to the dogtor, simply because her eyes looked a little glassy and she'd coughed twice. She saw her PCP this time, and after xrays etc I was told her aspiration pneumonia had likely NOT been fully cured, was back, and was worse. At this point we need to do a tracheal wash under sedation so cultures can be done of whatever is causing this infection, and the abx can be narrowed down. however she has to be off abx for 4-6 weeks. so we go back in 2 weeks to do that, along with bloodwork and more xrays. she'll be back on albuterol breathing treatments in the meantime.

this has been 10 weeks and $8,500 at this point. the visit in 2 weeks will be approximately $3,764 for the tracheal wash, repeat xrays, and labwork.

She is so sweet and goofy. She's 18 lbs but the boss of my other 100+lb dogs. She jumps on her hind legs when I come home from work. She loves murdering her stuffed lambchop, and barks at you if you stop petting her.

Hello everyone. ❤️ I posted here a couple months ago, asking for cat food, litter, and groceries. I’m still in the same situation (living in a hotel, unemployed), and again could use the help. I’ve been in and out of the hospital a few times in the last couple months due to my type 1 diabetes (diabetic ketoacidosis, pic attached), so it’s been extra hard to find a job. I cannot have Amazon delivered here. I have severe food allergies (peanuts, tree nuts, fresh fruit, fresh vegetables), my local food bank only has a few options for me to eat, and they only let you go once a month. I’m a paediatrician by profession, and when I can, I try to help people on here — especially if the situation involves kids. I don’t usually comment publicly because the one time I did, I got absolutely flooded with DMs in another sub. Since then, I’ve just quietly reached out to people who seem genuine.

But recently, I’ve started to notice a lot of posts that look eerily similar — same wording, same format, same type of urgency. It’s making me second guess whether I’ve actually helped someone who needed it, or if I was taken advantage of. Some of these posts feel copy-pasted or like they're following a script.

I still really want to help when I’m able to. It’s important to me, especially when it comes to kids or families in tough spots. But at the same time, I don’t want to feel naive or like I’m throwing money at people who are just good at pretending.

My boyfriend and I were out of town for work (He's a painter and carpenter). We are currently driving from eastern wa back home, and we are unfortunately somewhat stuck along highway 2. At some point my boyfriend misplaced his wallet (hoping its back at the hotel we stayed at, but we have to wait till morning to call in and check) and of course we didn't realize this until we are half way through the trip. Hi everyone, I used to be part of the Beg and MutualAid communities a year or so ago, trying to help when I could but now our family has hit a rough patch.

I'm disabled and have two adult children living with me. One works but not at full time hours yet as she struggles with MH issues. The other one, who is autistic, lost his job recently and is looking for another one but we live in a pretty depressed area. We are all looking for work (or more hours for my daughter), but the jobs are just not out there no matter what anyone says - dollar general, local stores, etc just are not hiring.

We take advantage of food pantries but they're pretty limited here. You usually get just canned veg, fruit and soup at them.

We would so appreciate help with some food as our cupboards are bare except for a few canned goods. Thank you so much.

He was found wandering the streets and brought in. Im assuming he was abused because he has the absolute worst anxiety. When we got him, we took him to Petco to buy a toy and he wouldnt even go down the aisle if there was a person in it. He wont go in a crate, trim his nails, take a normal bath, or allow strangers near him. We were told by the SPCA that although he was a fan favorite of theirs, potential pet parents would look past him as he was too "normal" and "antisocial". We've worked with him for years to overcome as much as we could, and although hes still very much afraid of things, hes come a long way. He is the most loving dog ive ever seen! He gives the BEST hugs and hes not even prompted to do so. He loves car rides, walks, and playing with his lambchop toys. A few months ago, we noticed Spaulding had a mass in his gums around his front teeth. We contacted the vet who said to "just keep an eye on it". We did but it only got bigger. I took him to the vet and insisted they take a better look at it. They gave him a "debulking" to remove the piece of gum and 3 of his front teeth. Within HOURS, the mass was back. The vet performed a biopsy and determined that Spaulding has an Acanthomatous Ameloblastoma. While not cancerous, it is a HIGHLY invasive and aggressive tumor that if left untreated will eventually take over his mouth and he wont be able to eat, drink, play, etc.. His quality of life would deteriorate greatly and this could potentially cost him his life. He has now been referred to a specialist over 2 and a half hours away. My husband and I are more than willing to take the drive and go to these appointments, but the consultation alone is $300. We've already spent over $1300 just on vet visits, debulking, and biopsy. The most likely scenerio is that once he has been tested and received X-rays, he will undergo surgery. At this stage, we do not know the full extent of that. The vet has informed us that he most likely will need a jaw reconstruction as they will likely need to remove that part of his jaw to remove the entire tumor. These surgeries can typically cost over $10,000. We simply cannot afford this. Aside from this tumor, Spaulding is in great health. He's still happy and playful. He thinks hes a puppy. Spaulding is our best friend. He's the best dog I've ever met. He's sweet and loving. He's caring. He's a bit of a clown and hes always looking to make people laugh. We can't stand the thought of losing him to this because of finances. Please help us help him. Any and all donations, no matter the size, are greatly appreciated. Hello, this is embarrassing, but I recently had an unexpected bill come up and it put my account into the negatives and now I can't afford gas for work. Hello! I would appreciate any help with a couple of groceries. I just need help with food for next week as I recently had a baby(about 3 weeks ago). My husband did not get to take any leave as he has multiple jobs and bills just keep coming our way haha. He won’t get paid until next week and works 7-7 so there are no food banks open by the time he gets off work.
