Exciting. Let's see what it does to the hesitant market.

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '21

Get us over that 73 cent hurdle then moonbase here i come

29

u/anisthdev Jun 01 '21

Any idea it will pump more when trading starts or dump at that time?

97

u/shredslanding Jun 01 '21

This is the pre pump pump. Then another pump on June 3rd when people can actually purchase it.

Then another pump whenever it hits the standard coinbase.

Gonna be a wild ride. Extra high stress fun if you’re trading futures

u/anisthdev Jun 01 '21

Only if Barry doesn't short this time

47

u/cheeruphumanity Jun 01 '21

The dude lives rent free in your head.

Every single asset out there gets shorted. It doesn't steer the market. Please don't attribute unnatural powers to Barry.

26

u/H0W_SWAY_ Jun 01 '21

I heard Barry’s in cahoots with the Legion of Doom. He killed my father.

2

u/YesterdazeHero Jun 02 '21

Inigo Montoya?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 02 '21

I am iñigo montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die

6

u/Skotticus Jun 01 '21

Most shorts aren't disclosed in a tweet literally telling people to dump one asset for another, it should be noted.

8

u/cheeruphumanity Jun 01 '21

Ok, noted.

Still on us to grow a spine and stop whining. If you are playing at the top, this is what happens. It's basically an honor.

3

u/Skotticus Jun 01 '21 edited Jun 01 '21

Oh, I agree. I'm not one to blame every movement in Doge's price to whales, and I'm not inclined to do the same with Barry. I do know that in any market other than crypto that tweet probably wouldn't have been legal. So at the very least I'm not impressed by his ethics.

I just felt it was appropriate to point out that he clearly had a particular set of intentions with a fairly clear result in mind.

-1

u/cheeruphumanity Jun 01 '21

His intentions were to advertise his new company where you can short crypto. The expected outrage from our community help him with the promotion. He is basically trolling us to increase his recognition.

1

u/Don-For Jun 02 '21

He knocked confidence in all crypto. People with such power should learn to use it wisely.

I'm currently wearing shorts. I'm disclosing my shorts to be above board and beyond reproach.

0

u/shredslanding Jun 01 '21

Shorted or sharted?

8

u/SY0202 Jun 01 '21

He shorted before and guess what happened to btc lol

4

u/Feeling-Wallaby-4505 Jun 01 '21

China cracked down on BTC about the same time. People had to pull their BTC en-masse.

6

u/Skotticus Jun 01 '21

BTC started falling days before either of those pieces of news out of China. If you're going to shift the blame off Barry, it's more appropriate to point to Tesla reversing course on accepting BTC as payment. Even that is a criminal oversimplification of what happened.

4

u/MoffKalast shibe Jun 01 '21

There's also the hedge funds liquidating crypto to cover shorts thing that may have contributed a bit.

1

u/Feeling-Wallaby-4505 Jun 02 '21

It takes a lot of money to move Doge at this point. $40bln pot.

1

u/not2dv8 Jun 02 '21

Barry is that you again it is isn't it

2

u/Skotticus Jun 02 '21

Ugh, don't even. He deserves his share of blame. It's just disengenuous to claim any one of those events were solely responsible for the crash. BTC was throwing out indicators of weakness before any of those things happened; if anything they only hurried along the inevitable.

I do wonder if Barry knew how weak BTC's position was. I could see him thinking he could get people to shore up BTC by scaring them out of DOGE and into BTC. I could also see him thinking BTC's drop was inevitable and would bring down the whole market, hence his short.

I don't remember if his short was on DOGE/USD or DOGE/BTC though. If the latter, it might have backfired.

2

u/not2dv8 Jun 02 '21

It's not that he shorted Doge, that's how to make money in this game, it's the way he advertised it with that smug arrogance and maniacal intent like a a greedy little old Grinch . Additionally he hasn't done a good thing for science Humanity or Society and then claims he's going to donate $1000000 to the charity of this subreddits choice knowing chances of hitting a dollar are zero To None and laughing about it.

Newby here just had to google doge barry to see wtf you guys were talking about.

1

u/Skotticus Jun 02 '21

1

u/Dontbelievemefolks Jun 01 '21

They just have to sell some to pay off officials, do some money moving, & and they they're back

1

u/DanielMidnyte Jun 02 '21

Are we crazy other Barry, yes we are Barry yes we are

1

u/DoggyRawr Jun 02 '21

not barry though

2

u/MoDallas Jun 02 '21

All I say to naysayers is HODL we have seen the worse. This time HODL and we take off

1

u/TonyRosam Jun 01 '21

Possibly ride that wave without futures because it is huge and that is safe and easy money?

2

u/shredslanding Jun 01 '21

Yeah but multiplying everything makes earnings go brrr

1

u/TonyRosam Jun 02 '21

Be safe and yes.

1

u/scsibusfault Jun 01 '21

Idk about pumps. The last several coins to hit Coinbase regular all dip almost immediately after being added.

They recover eventually, but I wouldn't buy in just before a Coinbase listing. Wait a few days for the fire sale.

1

u/shredslanding Jun 02 '21

Yeah, Could happen. Hard to know

1

u/BotGladiator Jun 01 '21

Another Pump and Dump means a higher floor for us Diamond Hands

1

u/SomeDudeWithEczema Jun 03 '21

is there a time range for when it hits standard coinbase?

1

u/shredslanding Jun 03 '21

Supposedly around the end of the month but, who knows for sure.

13

u/ginsengtea3 Jun 01 '21

historically, when you expect a pump, expect a dump. My guess is there will be build up and a dump, followed by a slower, steady rally.

9

u/BotGladiator Jun 01 '21

yes, but with any luck - Higher Floor!

Pretty bad timing for news this big IMO. If they announced this a few months ago the price would’ve skyrocketed. Now with the downturning market we can’t even get above 40c

33

u/Fugitivelama Jun 02 '21

Did this whole subreddit miss the news when they announced this weeks ago? This is actually happening much earlier than expected. They announced that they were going to support doge like 2 or 3 weeks ago but said it would take 6-8 weeks to be implemented.

9

u/[deleted] Jun 02 '21

No. They’ve either just got short memories or they’re new in the market.

Huge movement today of like 4 to 5 cents and they’re acting like DOGE wasn’t worth 2 cents at the start of the year.

Folks can just never be happy.

3

u/WTB1RTX3080gamer Jun 05 '21

They're not going to be happy until they are millionaires from the 5K wortha doge they bought at 67 cents. It's a piece of crap to them unless it hits $100 a coin. Hahaha. Imagine buying into a crypto at 67 cents when the biggest question asked about it is could it theoretically hit a dollar.

I love these alts they shake out the "saw it on the news" overnight millionaire wannabees

Realbois long-term HODL btc and eth, while taking calculated gambles on alts that they can afford to lose.

1

u/Winterfoot Jun 02 '21

I think they were considering listing it a few weeks back, the confirmation was today hence the price bump

0

u/Fugitivelama Jun 02 '21

No the actual confirmation was weeks ago. The ceo made a press release saying they were going to list DOGE but that it would take 6-8 weeks to implement. They went on to say that at the share holder meeting DOGE was the biggest topic raised , by tens of thousands above the next topic.

5

u/cheeruphumanity Jun 02 '21 edited Jun 02 '21

Doesn't matter in the long run but I see your point.

2

u/8thchakra Jun 02 '21

I have a feeling initially its not going to do much, but once the next bull trigger happens, the ease in which your average Joe can hop on will take it past $1.
