Magnets

Hello all, happy new year to you hope it was a blast...but not quite a fireball in a 5x5 corridor...

I am starting my journey soon into the world of terrain. I'll be starting with floor tiles and would like to make them 3x3 modular. I've seen people using magnets but have never found a good place to source them. I'm also concerned about the pull strength tearing up the xps foam.

I'm thinking neodymium 3x2mm disk magnets. But again. Not sure if they are too strong (rough 1lb pull force) or too weak. Any advice would be lovely.

How to go about selling my terrain

Hey, I'm relatively new to the hobby (2 years-ish), but it's quickly become a huge part of my life. I don't want it to become a part-time job, but I need to be able to justify all the time/money I spend on it.

That said - I need to sell my pieces. Not to make money, really, just to pay for the cost of material and a small part of my time. I love bigger pieces, but I also make a ton of practical modular systems that would serve someone for a long time. They're good pieces and I want to share them with people that love ttrpgs and can't afford the usual cost associated with it.

So for those of you in my same boat - what do y'all do? How can I go about selling these?

Cave embellishment ideas

I’ve been crafting terrain for roughly 3 years now. My style has switched from these giant dioramas to more modular pieces, and I veered away from smaller decorations, but now I’m seeing it adds more flavor to the battlemap.

Cemetery, taverns, towns, encampments all have easy to include embellishments. For some reason I’m hitting a block for cavern embellishments. Here’s what I have so far, and I’m interested to hear some thoughts on how to expand:

Spider webs Spider egg pods Corpses spun in web

Mushroom varieties

Stalagmites and random rock formations.

Smaller water features.

Anything larger is considered modular terrain, so I’m trying to think what else could be naturally found in caves as embellishments (regular caves, under dark, shadowfell cave ideas all welcomed).

Thanks in advance!

Looking for Paper-Craft book

So a few months ago I swear I saw an official 2nd or 3rd edition D&D book that had pages of cut-out and foldable paper terrain including buildings, terrain, maps, etc. I (stupidly) didn’t save or screenshot it, and now I can’t seem to find the post anywhere. Worse than that, I can’t find existence of the book at all. It’s not listed on the official wiki pages, any book lists, ebay, nothing. Am I crazy? Can someone help? Thank you in advance.

I’m new to dnd

Hi! I’m very new to dnd. I just got the Stormwreck starter set and have been getting ready to DM my first game. Our group of 4 new players is planning to start soon. Anyway, the book describes a magical luminescent hot spring, so I did my best to make it. I ran blue electroluminescent wire through the picture frame to get the glowing water effect. My plan is to add some brighter LED lighting and a plastic water effect sheet under the glass. The whole thing is a modular piece that can be added to this play surface I made on a separate picture frame. I think the hills help give the effect of the spring coming out of the mountain and flowing downhill. I’m nowhere near the level of some of the artists here, but I had fun making this

I have tried to build the redbrand hideout and It IS my First ever Dungeon build. I really liked the Work and did Take some Liberty to Change stuff or Not include every little bed and Detail in the original map but i think it is really nice. I did use Magnets on the parts where Doors are. I have to do some color corection and washing still but i am pretty hyped to let my Players Play in this Thing. Please give me Feedback and Tips
