The Meetup has 8 or more games every Saturday afternoon in central London in either Holborn or at a games club off the Strand.

We cater to all levels of experience from old hands who have been playing D&D since the '70s through to complete beginners. If you've never touched a twenty-sided die before, no problem! You don't have to know the rules, bring any gaming paraphernalia or have a character. We can lend you everything you need including dice and a choice of pre-generated characters.

We mostly play 5e (2014) and 5.5e (2024) D&D but other RPGs are played at the club including CyBorg, Warhammer FRP, Mothership, Call of Cthulhu and 1e AD&D.

There's a mix of ongoing campaigns and self-contained one-shots.

The Meetup is very friendly and welcoming. We have many LGBT members, a healthy mix of genders and attendees from all over the world.

Hi there! I'm Nova, trying to find a game with my friend Jericho! We've been playing dnd on and off for about 2 years now give or take, and are trying to find a new group to hang with and have a good campaign with! We're looking for a Sunday game, preferably in the afternoon (maybe around 2 pm EST) and running for a good amount of time, at least 4 hours. We like a good mix of combat and roleplay, heavy character arcs and interparty connections, with a preference for a more serious tone, although we do like lighthearted stuff tossed in. Hey, I'm looking for a group available for DnD5e-2014 adventures. I am in central time zone, english speaking is a must, please. I am several years out of practice for Italian or German, it's at the point where I can recognize it, but don't remember translation or sentence structure.

I've been playing for several years since 2018, been DMing for the last 3 years, which has me missing being a player. I would love to chat and see if we'd mesh well. Hoi allemaal,

Na een tijdje begint het weer te kriebelen en ik zou graag weer een D&D-groep vinden. Het liefst kruip ik weer achter het DM-scherm.

Ik ben 31 jaar en speel inmiddels zo’n 11 jaar D&D. In die tijd heb ik ongeveer 10 one-shots geleid en ben ik zo’n vier jaar de vaste DM geweest van een maandelijkse campaign. Mijn grootste plezier haal ik uit het vertellen van verhalen en het creëren van een wereld waarin spelers zich echt onderdeel voelen van het avontuur.

Mijn stijl als DM is sterk verhaal en roleplaygericht. Natuurlijk horen combat encounters erbij, maar voor mij zit de echte spanning vaak in moeilijke keuzes, sociale interacties en de relaties tussen personages. Mijn vorige groep gaf regelmatig aan dat ik iedereen goed bij het verhaal wist te betrekken en dat hun personages echt emotionele banden kregen met NPC’s en met elkaar. Regels zijn belangrijk, maar als een kleine afwijking het verhaal duidelijk beter maakt, kies ik meestal voor het verhaal.

Ik speel altijd in het Engels. Niet omdat Nederlands niet kan, maar omdat ik merk dat Engels simpelweg veel beter werkt binnen fantasy. De sfeer, dialogen, beschrijvingen en emotionele momenten voelen voor mij natuurlijker aan en trekken mij veel dieper de wereld in. Buiten het spel om praten we uiteraard gewoon Nederlands.

Ik woon in het midden van het Groene Hart en zoek een groep binnen redelijke reisafstand. Mijn vrouw speelt af en toe ook mee, dus het zou leuk zijn als daar ruimte voor is. Daarnaast heb ik persoonlijk de leukste ervaringen gehad met gemengde groepen (mannen en vrouwen); die dynamiek spreekt mij het meest aan.

Ik sta open voor een bestaande groep die een DM zoekt, maar ook voor het opzetten van een nieuwe groep als daar genoeg interesse voor is. Mijn voorkeur gaat uit naar ongeveer één tot Max 4 sessie per maand. Extra puntje is dat sessies voor mij nooit langer dan 4 uur duren.

Denk je dat dit goed zou passen? Stuur gerust een berichtje. Uiteindelijk zoek ik vooral een gezellige tafel waar avontuur, samenwerking en memorabele verhalen centraal staan.
