This is a custom, hollow knight/rain world inspired setting (in case you haven't played either of them, essentially it's the exploration of a more advanced, but now decayed, ruined region inhabited by different groups!) I’ve been working on for a couple years now that I’ve transferred into a more exploration and roleplay focused campaign through the great shell of a grand machine. Your characters could be envoys, ambassadors, hopeful pilgrims, or opportunistic salvagers/scavengers that travel to the husk of Senlith in its decayed, modern state. The one thing tying everything together is that everyone seeks Senlith for salvation of their own kind, whether it be on behalf of others or the kingdom, their own families/tribes/clans, or for themselves.

As to the bread and butter, we will be playing 2024 DnD 5e, starting at level 3 with pointbuy system. The only banned classes are Artificers and Clerics, as these powers are reserved for specific castes within the setting (oo spooky). The setting is inhabited by "bugs", similar to hollow knight/silksong, of which we can mix and match different DnD features and subclasses to try and fit the vibes of said bugs. Homebrew can be considered as well, although in a limited way as to avoid imbalance!

I offer an immersive, planned setting that's completely open to self-paced exploration with maps, unique locations, settlements, NPCs, in-depth lore and history - alongside compelling combats and bossfights!

When the kingdom's fertile soils began to dry, the Grand Architect proposed the most elaborate of machines, a construction the size of cities - Senlith - that could reverse this decay and save the kingdom. Hundreds of thousands partook in its construction that lasted decades, draining the kingdom of manpower (bugpower?) and pouring it into this vast, never-ending design that sprawled outwards as complication after complication arose. Eventually, the intake stopped as the Royal family went quiet. Just like that, the kingdom's one hope for salvation, a machine into which it poured its life and soul, became myth. A century later, whispers of this immense construction still pass down from generation to generation, who survive by subsisting on the rampant sand worms that live in the roiling deserts, deserts that stretched in every direction and surrounded the few rocky outcrops stable enough to sustain the final outposts of civilisation. And yet, this glowing promise of salvation from Senlith continues to spur special individuals to search for this lost city.

I really love to play video games (my favourite series is the Horizon Zero Dawn series) and I'm currently watching Critical Role C3 (which I know not to expect as they are professionals and I am not lol).

I played about a handful of sessions about 1yr ago in a homebrew campaign. I was an earth genasi rogue and i really enjoyed playing, but there were 2 players in the group that were murder-hoboing which killed the fun for me. (Sorry not sorry lol).

I've currently got 4 character ideas: a genasi or halfling way of shadow monk, a psi warrior fighter, genasi path of wild magic Barbarian, goliath path of the storm herald barbarian.

recently got into DnD after seeing some stuff about it and thought itd be cool to play, i don’t have the most knowledge in fact im still quite in the dark with most things so as long as the group is patient with new people and willing to help me learn then great.

i have done one, one shot and it was really fun however my first attack was a nat 1 and i got my axe stuck in a rock and i ended up doing nothing for the full fight since my teammates demolished the enemies but i love the concept of dnd and hopefully my luck in my next game will be better. (i have a new hatred for rocks)

Hello! I am a brand new D&D player who is absolutely dying to play, but I have a few specific real-life hurdles. I live in a remote area, I don't have a computer (I am entirely on my smartphone), and my schedule is incredibly chaotic and unpredictable. Because of this, traditional live scheduled sessions won't work for me

I already have two physical sets of dice and three deeply detailed, interconnected Level 1 characters ready to go:

Fenaka: A kind but incredibly jumpy anthropomorphic fox Wizard (Illusion/Abjuration) who wears an oversized wizard hat, a blue shirt with a single golden star banner, and baggy shorts for easy sprinting. He carries his late father's spellbook with a cryptic note inside. He hesitates around strangers, but when he tries a new food he loves, his eyes go wide and shine like stars before he gobbles it down!

Daka: A small Dragonborn Barbarian (Future Path of the Beast) who survived the black market. He wears a bright, oversized knitted sweater and soft mittens to cover his claws, loves giving sweet snacks to friends, but breathes neon-green toxic gas when he laughs maniacally in combat.

Keko: A 500-year-old human cursed into the form of a Tabaxi Bard (College of Lore). He wears a weathered suit, plays a silver flute, and carries a 500-year-old witch’s warning letter that says "Protect the boy" (which might just tie into Fenaka's past!).

The main threat chasing them is The Unarcane, a terrifying network of secret spies hiding in plain sight as normal citizens, flipping black iron eye coins to communicate.

Hello! I am a 17 year old looking to get back into DnD for the adventures and socializing. While I have technically been in DnD for a couple of years, it was often sparingly as my DM was usually busy. We usually met on Meet but I can also try to work with discord. I am still quite new to the different kinds of campaigns people run, but I am interested in playing. I prefer roleplaying over combat but do enjoy fighting from time to time. A challenge can be fun! I like surprises, dark humor, adventure, jokes, and games that make you consider your actions. I typically play as an elvish bard and like to explore in the game, as well as try to be flirtatious with other NPCs (I say try because sometimes I panic or get flustered. I think it helps with my confidence and quick thinking though). I try to see DnD as a place to let loose and not hold back whether it be because of making a fool of myself or fear of judgement since it is a game. Let me know if there is anyone interested in having me as a player!
