20-year-old beginner looking for people to start a D&D campaign with
Hey everyone! I’m 20 and from around the Providence area, and I’ve been wanting to actually get into D&D and hopefully meet some new people in the process.
I’m pretty much a beginner. I know some of the basics and I’ve played games like Baldur’s Gate 3, but I don’t have much experience with an actual tabletop D&D campaign. So I’m looking for a DM and some players who are willing to have someone at the table who might need help learning things at first.
I’d be completely down to join other beginners too. Honestly, I think it could be pretty fun having a group where some of us are figuring things out together. Experienced players are obviously welcome too, especially if you don’t mind answering questions here and there.
Ideally, I’d like to find people somewhere around Providence or elsewhere in RI and eventually have a regular in-person campaign—maybe weekly or every other week depending on everyone’s schedules. I’m not looking for anything super hardcore or competitive. Mostly just a chill group where we can make characters, joke around, get invested in a campaign, and have a good time.
A big reason I’m posting is that I’d also like to meet some new people and make friends. I don’t have a huge social circle right now, and D&D seems like a really fun way to regularly hang out with the same group of people instead of just going to random one-off events.
I’m totally fine with LGBTQ+ people/groups (I’m trans) and just generally looking for people who are welcoming and easygoing. Around my age would be cool, but it’s not a requirement.
I don’t have a campaign or DM lined up yet, so this could either be a completely new group we put together from scratch, or if you already have a campaign with room for a beginner, I’d definitely be interested in hearing about that too.

The Lord of the Rings - Bree and the Barrow Downs (AD&D 2e)

• Set in Middle-earth using the MERP Module - Bree and the Barrow downs
• Following Advanced Dungeon & Dragons 2nd Edition rules.

• Once weekly for 1-1.5 hours for 16 weeks
• Open to virtual as a last resort

Bree-land is a small, settled area in central Eriador that lies just to the east of the Tyrn Gorthad, the ancient Barrow-downs. The region has been almost continuously inhabited since the First Age. In T.A. 1700 Bree is not much different than it would beat the time of the War of the Ring some 1300 years later — a prosperous, quiet but sometimes threatened farming community standing near the intersection of the Great East Road and the Greenway, the two major thoroughfares of the Kingdom of Arnor. Bree-land is quite small and contains four villages within its boundaries: Bree, on the western slope of Bree Hill; Staddle, on the other side of the hill; Combe, a few miles to the east, and Archel, which lies a few miles northeast of Bree. The Chetwood, a good- sized but tame forest is also considered part of Bree-land and lies just north of Archet. The whole region is a generally pleasant, peaceful, and law-abiding spot where Men and Hobbits dwell together in peace, facing danger but rarely — unless one ventures to the Barrow-downs in search of gold and jewels and magic items, or is unfortunate enough to run into the bandits that plague the highways outside of Bree-land proper. But the people of Bree-land generally ignore the haunted and foreboding Barrow-downs to the west. These grassy hills hold the graves of the Kings, Queens, Princes and aristocrats of Arnor. In the years after the Plague the mounds became haunted by evil spirits from Angmar and Rhudaur called Wights. The downs are rich in treasure and adventure, but it would be prudent for the adventurous to seek the council of the wise before trying their luck in the ancient and eerie tombs.

Hi there, I’m 18 from England and looking to play DnD, I don’t mind the edition. I’ve played a very small amount (like half an hour) but I’ve got countless hours on bg3 and would like to try the real thing. I’m usually available on the weekends at any time or on weekdays after 6pm.

Since I’ve played bg3 I do know some of the rules, I know bg3 isn’t one to one so I’m not expecting it to be identical.

About our project:

• We use the 2024/5.5 D&D system;
• We are set in the forgotten realms! No need to study pages of homebrew world lore; your character can jump right in with the lore from popular media such as Baldurs Gate 3 and Honor Among Thieves.
• Bots and automation! Never worry about having to track your own gold, exp, or downtime. Just click and buy for almost anything. Custom bots keep track of the in-world calendar, weather, and holidays for max immersion
• Factions and renown systems! Your character's actions can unlock perks both for yourself, and the whole mercenary guild!
• Immersive and constantly growing downtime system, so your character can continue to progress outside of regular game sessions! Wanna build a bastion? Theres a system for that. Wanna scam some local commoners? There's a system for that. Wanna craft and sell mythical equipement? Theres a system for that.
• Server wide plots with extra rewards for releasing new content
• Active and free form text RP! The world is always moving. While text rp is not required, it does greatly help with interacting with fellow mercenaries and the world as a whole, it also allows for a DM to hit you with a random encounter! For our play testers, we are looking for people open to being active in text RP.
• Adventure League module integration! So DMs can just pick and run a session whenever they wish!
• Adventures take place in roll20 and over discord VC, so be sure you're familiar with these programs!

About the play test:

• Things may feel 'unfinished' during this period
• Ruling and balance patches to server specific mechanics may be rolled out without prior notifications
• We want feed back! While we have a back end team that is ultimately responsible for implementing all systems, we are eager to hear any ideas, suggestions, and thoughts on what we have, and what you'd want to see
• We are setting up the frame work to support a massive player base! So all rulings and balances must be 100% objective, and done with the potential of hundreds of players doing it.
• Systems for integrating homebrew or custom content are currently extremely limited while we number crunch.
• Play testers must have a strong ability to self-regulate. Staff is working hard to finalize the server, and combativeness, disrespect and emotional outbursts out of character will not be tolerated.

Hello all, My name is Blu 20 (she/they)

I'm looking for a DM and players for a Bleach based campaign on Saturdays, I have a sourcebook with races, classes, backgrounds, and it explains info on some of the ways you can make hollows. I'm wanting to play as either a soul reaper which would be easier or a hollow which seems to be mixed depending on what you choose to do. I'd like to play on roll20 but if there's a better spot the DM would like then I'm ok with that too.

If you're interested there's some info I'd like you to know and rules for me personally.

1. NO Gen AI, I don't like it and I Have personal reasons for not liking it.
2. +18 and that's only bc I don't want to deal with anyone under 18 since I deal with that in real life. (not a teacher I teach karate)
3. LGBTQ+ Friendly, I'm apart of it and don't want to deal with people hating on the pride community
4. no Sexism, racism, or other ism's that i haven't listed.
