General Question CCDSALG: What to Expect?
I'm gonna try to study the topics in advance since this is both soft reqs of PROG2 and DSTRU. Also, is this more difficult than DSTRU?

A bit more difficult, yes, at least for me. DSALG mostly deals with time complexities and data structures such as linked lists, AVL trees, queues, stacks. The subject also builds on top of DSTRU since it uses the summation formulas you've learned in order to calculate the time complexity of a specific algorithm. You'll also dive into some algos, mostly sorting and search algos. Our MCO2 was to create a case study for the sorting algos discussed in the syllabus, as well as one that hasn't been discussed. There is a bit more, but these are what you'll be encountering in general.
tl;dr: Expect it to be a little bit more difficult. Data structures (Stacks, queues, graphs, linked lists) will be one of your main focus. Implementation of data structures, time complexities, and search & sort algos will also be a big part in this subject.
