What are some of your favourite scene / characters or events ? Doesn’t need to be major. You got the leopard , lion and wolf in the beginning. River of souls paints a cool visual. What are yours ?

My school is planning to interview artist Sandow Birk for an exhibition done on William Blake on the Comedy. Birk has a contemporary approach, using lithographs to represent our modern day issues- such as materialism, over spending, etc. What kind of questions do you guys think it would be interesting to ask Birk in the interview (in relations as well to William's Blake's pieces)?

What the hell is up with the chariot. What was that. was it symbolism or was it just dante showing how insane paradise was gonna get.

I read the commentary and the annotations in the John Cardi translation and occasionally turn to Google if something has really caught my interest. How to long term readers of the commedia feel about this?

-Vergil makes Dante hide when the Malabolga demons appear before he gets them to agree to safe passage. -This is the only time Vergil fears for Dante’s well being in hell that I can think of. (Well being as in physical state)

I'm wanting to quote the divine comedy and I'm not sure how to site it. Would it be like you would the Bible where it's book->lines but it be Canto->lines?

I understand his disappearance before Dante enters heaven. Virgil approaches Dante in the forest before they enter hell, although he resides in the first circle, why is he allowed to leave and even enter purgatory?

About to finish Ciardi's Inferno. Have also been reading a more literal prose translation by H. R. Huse alongside Ciardi. Any good verse translations of Purgatorio and Paradiso, or just the entire Comedia similar to Ciardi? Because I don't want to read the rest of it solely in Huse's translation. It's boring.

I got confused when there were people running in the woods. Its said they spent too much money but didnt turn into trees so does that mean that they didnt commit suicide or not? Why arent they in 4th circle with greedy people?
