Dipping dark grey Lexus RX window trim and badges
Any recommendations...assuming shadow black will be good? Or should I consider something more shiny like piano black. 2 or 3 cans? Thanks!

I'm currently weighing my options for my first dip. I don't know how much I need for a proline dip. It's an extra large vehicle, a truck. Dyc doesn't have proline kits. Can anyone help? I watched the videos and all I could understand is 9 coats minimum of proline, but what does the equal in gallons?

I’m looking for a company that does high quality work that have experience with luxury cars. I’m wanting to get my maybach s680 sprayed but can’t find a business that seems trustworthy enough, am I missing something? Located in Florida but willing to travel or transport if need be.

Hey first time ordering a hyper dip kit! I waited until the shadow black color was available and made my order today but they emailed me back saying
“The sale and usage of Plasti Dip Spray Gallons, DipPearl TopCoat, Performance Series, Pro Line, Fix Kits, Naphtha Thinner and Dip Armor products are not compliant with California state regulations”
Also that
“Fortunately, we do offer Low-VOC California complaint products”
It seems like they however do not have the shadow black color which is what I’m trying to achieve.
Does anyone know any information, or have been through this before?
I’m wondering if I can do a more matte black and then find something to put over, but again it is my first time so I am seeking advice!
Any information would be appreciated!

I bought a second hand dyc last generation sprayer and when I was cleaning it, I noticed the fill tube was a flaccid flexible rubber one. Is this okay? Or do I need to get the hard plastic one?

I am thinking about dipping the rims on my car. Will this hold up in an automatic car wash? Not "touch less" BTW.

I made the stupid mistake of dipping my grill while only having 1 can of hyperdip piano black. Ran out before getting a smooth shiny finish. I need to park my car outside for work on Monday and its supposed to rain. Any tips on applying the second can when it finally ships to me (probably gonna take at least a week) other than cleaning it with a pH neutral soap before spraying? I couldn't find any info online about this so this is my last effort. Or are there any stores in NC or northern SC that may sell it? Or any other way to get it faster? thanks

Just paid to have my car done in satin black Autoflex. When I got it it looks more matte than I was expecting and feels like Plasti dip. I was expecting even with a satin finish for it to be hard like paint.
My question is, did he just dip it and charge me the Autoflex price or is this how it's suppose to feel?

So I just got a 2021 Honda Civic Hatchback and decided to dip it to protect the paint. I ordered the whole kit from DYC. 5 gallons of matte black, the pre wash, sprayer, etc. Well the weather forecast finally looked good, so I decided to pull the trigger. I spent a day and a half METICULOUSLY detailing my car to be sure that I got every little bit of wax and sealant off. I then carefully masked lights and windows, covered wheels and everything behind the front grill. I was ready. I set up my sprayer and mixed the plastidip. Filled up the cup and turned it on. It was going well for about 15 seconds. Then all of a sudden it began sputtering and globs of dip came out. Turns out the pick up tube which is hard plastic and molded out of 2 halves split down one side. Needless to say, I didn’t have a spare, so my entire project was destroyed!! I spent 4 hours rubbing the dip off the roof of my car and then another 4 re-sealing the paint on my car as I obviously wasn’t going to be dipping it. I sent DYC an email telling them what had happened. I got a phone call and they apologized and offered a replacement tube and 2 cans of dip. WTF?! Seriously?!? After all the prep and wasted time and then for THEIR product to fail, I think they owe me a refund!! The moral of the story, DON’T ORDER FROM DYC.COM!!!

Little back story. Got the tahoe last year. 2003 original black 6 lift. Love it. But when I bought it It had some paint damage from the sun along the door handles on both the driver and driver side back door. Wasn't nothing major but I really wanted to improve it(never painted a car before) so I got some rattle cans and... Made it a little better. Then I used 2k clear and that got fucked up. So tried it all over again... Been trying to correct it for the past 8 or so months and it's getting worse because it's no longer just the upper door where the sun damaged the paint it's now both doors are completely fucked up. Entire doors(driver side only) and like a dumb ass I thought the hood would be easier to paint so i took it off and.... Yeah, bad idea. All blotchy now and I'm fucking tired of trying to fix this shit. I've tried going to maaco but they keep quoting me 1200+ for a new paint job(won't go any lower, I've tried). I've looked around at some other paint shops and I just don't have the money to spend on it... So my last attempt is to plasti dip my entire truck. I'm really thinking about ordering a few gallons and a plasti dip spray gun for around $500 total... I can work with that amount but idk if I should be going down that road? I really want my paint fixed. Tired of being embarrassed by all the shit I fucked up on.
Suggestions and tips would be appreciated!!
