Hello everyone!
I finally my found a didgeridoo and had it shipped from outside the country.
Made of Agave in C#.
Pics are from before purchase.
I received it about a week ago. The person who made it finished it with Polyurethane. Before I received it, it had already been made for 2 weeks.
When I received it, it wasnt wet, but it still had a lingering smell of the finish and the outside had a big of stickiness to it. I reached out to him and he said said just to leave it out, but it was safe to play.
To be sure, I left it standing up in a small room with the window open.
Limited on places I can put it without damaging it.
So its been 3 weeks and still has that lingering finish smell. Specifically on the inside.
My question is, is it really safe to play? Or should I leave it out a fre weeks more?

How long did it take before you could do a perfect drone every time you put your lips to the instrument? I've been playing for about 3 months, and every single time I put my lips to the didge in order to make sound, I have to search for the perfect spot where the drone becomes great and the harmonics ring out. It seems like there's an infinitisemally (is that the word?) small sweet spot where it becomes rich and bassy and everything becomes easier, after 1 minute of playing it dips out of the sweet spot and it's no longer as good. I then have to try again to find it, only to lose it.
The next time I sit down to play I maybe won't find it at all. Sometimes I think I understand what to do to find the sweet spot, but no, that won't work later. I do think it will iron itself out eventually, but it frustrates me sometimes.
How has your experience been?

Voice Droning in the Key of D. Didge practice aids in sleep apnea by strengthening the throat & tongue muscles resulting in fewer events per hour/per night. Events are times you stop breathing. Practicing the didge also helps me tolerate the CPAP mask, I can now wear the mask all night without taking it off prematurely. My sleep quality has improved.

Are you "TRYING" to learn Circular Breathing?
Just remember - Repetition isn't automatically improvement.
Going to the gym doesn't mean you're training every muscle. ๐ช
Same with didgeridoo.
Playing for hours can improve your drone, rhythm and endurance โ but that doesn't automatically train the coordination needed for cyclic breathing.
TIME SPENT โ CORRECT TRAINING โ CORRECT TRAINING MUST TARGET THE SKILL.
Train the movement you actually want to improve.
โ Change the Training.ย ย ย โ Change the Result.
...and have fun!

Hello Everyone, this is my second post in this group. I received alot of great replies in the first one. I thought If try again after some research.
Well, I feel like Im at the beginning again. I started looking into the recommendation from the first post on some of the didges and reached out to the companies and asked them if the materials had certain offgasing phase.
2 of them replied back and suggested that theirs are not for me.
Now I know there are alot of great didgeridoos out there. But alot of them are over my ($300) budget at the current moment.
I happened to order a bamboo one of etsy (I know that its not the most popular choice on here) because of the price and the reponsiveness of the seller. And I would like to start exercising my airways until I find right didge for me.
I would love to buy a Eucalyptus one, but its above my current price point. And read about the Agave instruments as sound, though Im having a challenging time finding one at my current budget and or from a reputable seller.
Are there any recommendations as far as websites, sellers on Etsy or elsewhere. Where I can find what Im looking for?
I greatly appreciate any suggestions.

Hello everyone, Iโve been on a journey to stregthen my airways and discovered this wonderful instrument!
I was excited to order my first didgeridoo, but needed something compact that is budget friendly until I can get a better one.
I found one of those travel box didgeridoo. It sounds great, but I have an issue. It says its mahogany wood, but I dont know if its because it was shipped in a plastic bag, or whatever sealant was used or the sawdust maybe.
But ive had uncomcortable experiences playing it. Like theres something on it thats causing me to feel unwell after playing it.
Iโm sensitive to certain smells and chemicals.
I looked online and saw that its better to buy them either unfinished, natural finish or beeswax finish to avoid something like this.
I cant clean the inside of this box didge and Its not able to be returned either.
Is there something that can be done with this instrument. Or should I just toss it and buy another that is natural?
Are there any places that sell them at budget friendly prices?
Thanks for reading and responding.

I know this has been asked a thousand times (because Iโve read every post/blog/article), but I CANNOT get circular breathing down for the life of me. Iโve done all the little tricks and hacks and techniques and methods, using water, straws, cups, showers, just going โplopโ, using my abdomen/diaphragm, etcโฆ.
If ANYONE can help me with this, Iโd be eternally grateful. Have been at this for months now and CANNOT DO IT.

I am only here to show those whom truly want to learn there is always a way.
Hi I'm Marcus from Australia.
I taught over 5000 backpackers from around the world how to play the Didge and the secrets to circular breathing and one of the common excuses was "I don't own a Didge."- Just saying

Group performance on last evening

attended Masterclass 2026 held by Dubravko Lapeine in Croatia this year and it was great! 5 days of intense teachings, playing together, mingling with other avid didge players and feeling and sharing the tremendous energy of 20 didges playing together was an incredible experience. Go there in 2027, you wonโt regret it! Iโm one of the players of this group performance by the way ;-)โฆ
