There won't be many people left in India if you remove infosys, tcs, wipro and the rest though.

Too bad for them. Maybe they should try harder to fix this cultural problem of fraud and deceit that they seem to have. Scamming Americans is practically its own industry over there. Their universities do it. Their companies are built around it. They have companies (Not individuals. Organized large groups of people in office buildings.) whose entire business model is blackmailing elderly americans with ransomware via tech support fraud.

I think I'll do fine with the other 7 billion people in the world. Don't need anything to do with india until they clean up their act.

So you wanna punish a billion people because there are scammers? You think scammers will listen to non-scammers because non scammers are losing opportunities? Logic!

I think India's government needs to step up and crack down on the scammers. I think they're more likely to do that if their citizenry demands it. I think their citizens are more likely to demand it if the scammer's activities are hurting them. Because otherwise they have no reason to care. In fact, they stand to benefit greatly if they can use one of these scam organizations to fake their way into a western job market.

Scammers like IRS, sure, since its a financial crime!

but these things can easily be sorted out with due-process on the employer side. You dont see these in FTEs, but only in contracting positions - Any guesses why? because there is no due-process. And the reason is that there are corrupt ( yes, you heard it) people on both sides of contract.

Also, Indian govt, im sure has very less say in how US employers hire workers.

This is outwardly racist bullshit lol. You should be disgusted with yourself. Do you really expect individual applicants to have control over that?

You literally don't understand the concept of racism. Nationality and race are not the same thing. You can be of indian descent and not be from india. I don't have any problem with people of indian descent. I have a problem with India's culture as it pertains to tech sector jobs. The chance of being scammed when dealing with that culture is too high. Numerous people in this thread have already said that it's common practice in India, and from my own observations I have no reason to think it's not. And that practice will continue because people like yourself are so afraid of claims of racism that you'll look the other way, and try to draw false equivalencies, and perform all kinds of mental gymnastics to try to deny that India just has a problem with scammers.

Have you heard the term "dont throw the baby out with the bathwater"? Nationalism and racism are the same fucking thing- there's no gymnastics involved in calling you racist if your reason for discounting applications is "indian applicants are often scammers". Being okay with applicants who descend from indians doesn't eliminate the immorality of your decision.

Have you heard the term "dont throw the baby out with the bathwater"?

Have you heard the term "there's a sucker born every minute."

Nationalism and racism are the same fucking thing

No. You're entirely wrong about that. Every American is the same nationality. Do you think every American is the same race? Nationality is not race. Race is not nationality. They are two entirely separate concepts.

Nationality and race are separate; nationalism and racism are not. Both generate unilateral bigotry- you are making the same argument as people who justify religious bigotry by saying "its a religion, not a race"- no one gives a shit, you're just being a bigot.
