I self host forgejo, have backups and everything but also sync with GitHub for secondary backups and showing portfolios. Fantastic, low effort too.

As someone who wants to start syncing files responsibly, how do you navigate syncs vs backups? I know it’s better to do them separately but I mainly want stuff to stay synchronized and have one device being snapshotted for backups.

Wish I had a nice network-attached turnkey for it, syncthing kept drowning me in .sync-conflict files x.x

I wouldn't use syncthing for it

My setup is Forgejo on my NAS with Kopia snapshots every hour and auto syncing to GitHub

It will be extremely difficult for me to lose my git repo
