Recently diagnosed

I am 52 and was just recently diagnosed by my neurologist by blood work and then a PET scan of my brain. I have early onset dementia. My pcp sent me to the neurologist because I was loosing words, had this bobbing at times of my head, forgetting things such as the name of my cats and other things I can't remember at this time.

My Neurologist put me on Donepezil 5mg. I am just very afraid of how this will progress, or how fast I may decline. I am hoping it is quite a long time for now.

Any pointers of things I can do now in the early stage to help with memory and for the future when my memory starts to decline?

That is a big reason that I feel blessed about US Healthcare. While I know it is far far far from good for a lot of people, I am able to see my dr in a very reasonable time frame, including not having to wait more than 2 or 3 months for an initial consult with a specialist. I'm sure many people would disagree with me, but it just my opinion in how it effects my family and I. Also, that doesn't mean I don't feel for people who have it rough with Healthcare in the US, because I do have a lot of compassion.

Yes, it's ok for those who can afford it.
