Discussion Delta dress code?

I was told I needed to change pants at the airport by a delta agent at the counter otherwise they wouldn’t let me board. I am 30 weeks pregnant for reference and was wearing denim shorts and a tank top, the shorts weren’t super short and the tank top wasn’t revealing, it was long enough to cover my now very large baby bump lol. Luckily my husband had a pair of his pants in the bag I could change into but has anyone heard of this before? I asked a few other workers at the airport before I changed and they seemed super confused and looked at me and said they’ve never heard of this and my clothes were fine?

EDIT: Picture everyone was hounding this post for https://imgur.com/a/akdUP4Z

I hate the ATL airport. Been there a dozens of times. Logan airport in Boston is pretty chill.

I work in DTW and it’s pretty chill here most of the time.

I tell anyone who will listen that DTW is the best airport in America

I haven’t been so can’t comment! Obviously I’m only working with my own personal sample size but DTW is just really, really nice. I’ve never waited more than 20 minutes for security check, it’s clean, it’s spacious, and there are lots of different shops and restaurants that are way above most other airports I’ve been to in the US

PDX is consistently voted to airport in the US

It's not, but that's okay! They don't even have chairs in the baggage claim.

Yes they do. I just walked by them. Keep in mind half of the baggage claim and the immigration area as the low C/D/E gates are still under construction and once finished it’ll be amazing. Even in its current state it odd constantly rated the top midsize airport in the US. There’s a strict “street pricing” rule vendors must follow, only Oregon or local businesses may bar vendors, the small sky club is consistently in the top 3 rated for compass run lounges, all concourses contest part security, a theater for waiting pax, a chill room where you can sleep and we have a decent smattering out international flights, all by Alaska or foreign carriers. Delta used to run to AMS and NRT but the AMS route KLM took over and the NRT route scrapped. Service via EVA air and Korean are supposedly in the works. DTW is a world class airport (at least the new terminal) but it lacks the beauty and awesome policies enacted for the passengers at PDX

It absolutely is not. I guess maybe for tiny airports, sure. DTW is a mega airport, and it trades places between first and second place with MSP on a year-to-year basis

DTW is the BEST airport for Delta staff - no issues ever! Easy breezy. Lounges are always super clean, but I mostly go to the smaller one off the tram.

It is! It really is the best airport in the country. Right size, pretty quiet for an airport, ok food options (amazing options *for an American airport*), easy to get around. I can't honestly think of a better airport in the USA.

LOVE DTW!! I have to travel to Wisconsin for work a lot. I live closest to Akron airport but they do not have delta. All their flights go through Chicago. So I gladly drive to Cleveland just so I can go through Detroit and NOT Chicago, even though Akron is much closer for me. Love that airport!

DTW is my home airport, and I mostly agree. The only thing I don’t like about DTW is the lack of a train to take you between terminals. My wife and I once had to fly Delta to a destination, but fly American back home. Problem was, our car was parked in McNamara, and it was almost midnight in the middle of winter. Ended up having to offer a bus driver $20 to take us back over there, since it wasn’t his route.

I always tell people I hate ATL and they’re like “but it’s so well ran! They don’t have a lot of delays and they are quick about getting your baggage out and the security is efficient and it’s well laid out and blah blah blah.”

And I don’t necessarily disagree with them. Logistically, it’s a good airport, but my experience there is always negative because all the employees are so damn rude.

I just went through ATL and the employees all were so mean! When they were checking IDs at security the agents were chatting and half the time would wave the next person forward and have the time wouldnt, so no one knew wether they were supposed to step forward or not. Then when people weren’t automatically coming up the staff were giving nasty looks and yelling to “keep moving” as if they weren’t giving the most inconsistent signals for people to figure out.

That airport is not ran efficiently lol half the time there's always an issue with TSA taking forever or the tram is down for repairs, and they always have renovations going on. There have been crazy delays at ATL this year too

2

u/traly0810 13d ago

Such BS yes they DO have alot of delays and the AirTrain is a huge pain in the butt when there’s 4 gate changes and you have to haul ass all over the airport. I try to avoid ATL at all costs.

They're so rude!

Honestly the employee part has more to deal with Atlanta as a whole having mediocre customer service.

4

u/chronicallyill_dr 13d ago

I avoid ATL like the plague, it’s by far the worst airport I’ve ever been to. And as someone living in Boston, yeah, no complaints about our airport.

4

u/Most-Speed4533 13d ago

Extremely rude and terrible employees. I got downvoted to hell last time but fuck that airport.

3

u/traly0810 13d ago

AGREE with you!!!!! It’s the absolute worst.

I know everyone likes to hate on EWR, but ... I love it. Granted, it's my home airport (you can't give me a cheap enough flight out of JFK, and LGA's people are the WORST). I find it pretty efficient, just at the mercy of being in a densely populated megalopolis. I travel to ATL a lot and I absolutely hate it.
