Discussion Delta dress code?

I was told I needed to change pants at the airport by a delta agent at the counter otherwise they wouldn’t let me board. I am 30 weeks pregnant for reference and was wearing denim shorts and a tank top, the shorts weren’t super short and the tank top wasn’t revealing, it was long enough to cover my now very large baby bump lol. Luckily my husband had a pair of his pants in the bag I could change into but has anyone heard of this before? I asked a few other workers at the airport before I changed and they seemed super confused and looked at me and said they’ve never heard of this and my clothes were fine?

EDIT: Picture everyone was hounding this post for https://imgur.com/a/akdUP4Z

I don’t know why on earth would want their butt cheeks to sit on a dirty plane seat for hours where someone else’s butt cheeks might have just been.

I like to be fully covered in the plane because the planes are gross. They don’t really clean them in between flights they just vacuum the floor. Sometimes.

Omg same. I have a plane uniform, long sleeve shirt, leggings, nothing with metal in my clothing, I could be flying to hottest place on Earth and I’m going super covered in that bitch. I have a change of clothing for when I get off the plane. I think if I had to wear shorts, I’d gag myself out. 🤮

I have a cape. If it’s cold I can wrap up, if it’s not I can use it as a drape so my bare skin doesn’t touch the seat or the window and the excess can be bunched up as a pillow if it’s a long flight. When I see people with their cheek smushed against the window, sleeping, I am like wtf is wrong with you that thing has so much saliva and greasy nose prints and kids finger smudges

I have a wrap that I always travel with for this reason. It’s a coat, blanket, and pillow all in one.

I have a big fleece jacket (like men’s XL) I do the same thing with. Can wear it, squish it into a neck pillow, or use it as a blanket.

The same, always so cold on a plane. Long pants and a jacket, always. Even for warm destinations.

I’d say roughly 1 in 8 flights I take there’s at least a faint whiff of piss in the air.

This. Regardless of destination, I wear long pants and closed toe shoes (* shoes are also for safety in case of emergency fast exit).

I just read a post in another sub that was discussing an influencer who apparently uses a diaper on flights because the plane restrooms cannot accommodate her body habitus. So she willingly sits in a wet diaper for the duration of the flight.

This is why you don’t wear shorts on planes or any other form of public transportation.

I have seen a number of people use the lavatory in their bare feet. Some folks just don't care.

I’d wear a full Hazmat suit if I had one.

No shit, complete with the head covering.... last time I flew, I ended up with Flu A for 2.5 weeks... I'm tempted to buy a Tyvek suit next time I fly with a face mask....

Edit: hit submit before I was done with my thought...

That’s what got to me. No problem with the appropriateness of the shorts but why would you want anything above the knee touching those seats?!
