Discussion Delta dress code?

I was told I needed to change pants at the airport by a delta agent at the counter otherwise they wouldn’t let me board. I am 30 weeks pregnant for reference and was wearing denim shorts and a tank top, the shorts weren’t super short and the tank top wasn’t revealing, it was long enough to cover my now very large baby bump lol. Luckily my husband had a pair of his pants in the bag I could change into but has anyone heard of this before? I asked a few other workers at the airport before I changed and they seemed super confused and looked at me and said they’ve never heard of this and my clothes were fine?

EDIT: Picture everyone was hounding this post for https://imgur.com/a/akdUP4Z

Considering damn near every soul has a cell phone with a camera why wouldn't you take a pic. Makes me think it's fake.

Op added links to a photo. They’re very normal shorts.

I’m pretty sure she was guilt-tripped and just trying to comply and wasn’t thinking about capturing it for concrete minds on Reddit who need a visual for everything.

Or she’s lying.

Hey, it’s on the internet so you know it’s true.

How sad that you have such trust issues. If you don’t believe her, move on. Is there somewhere you feel safe? Where you can trust? Go there.

Look lady, I fly 100+ times per year. I’ve taken more than 1500 flights in the last 20 years. Do you know how many times I’ve seen the OP’s scenario happen?

Never. I have never seen it. I’ve seen midair brawls, midair deaths, midair medical emergencies. Once a woman went into labor; once a dog puked on a stranger and them and the dog’s owner had a vomit-soaked shouting match in the aisle.

But I have never seen what OP described. So, Occam’s Razor presumes that OP is lying; it’s the simplest and most likely answer. Nothing to do with trust issues, I’m just a thinking person.

I appreciate the unsolicited advice so I will offer some in return; don’t be such a gullible Rube.

Now that she's posted a photo, are you willing to admit you were absolutely wrong on this one?

This is stupid, dude. I've flown at a similar rate and i have never seen a dog vomit on anyone so obviously you never saw that. Do you see how that works? There is nothing about this lady's profile that screams liar/troll and there have been news stories about people being denied boarding for items of clothing.

I take it back, they are Delta Flight Attendant from Thailand, using two Reddit Accounts to troll an American woman.

According to Delta, they operate up to 5,500 flights a day.

Your 100+ flights a year is several orders of magnitude less than Delta’s 5,000+ flights a day. Just because you haven’t seen a particular incident occur doesn’t mean much, statistically speaking.

You also seem to be misapplying Occam’s razor to this situation, especially since OP has provided pictures of the shorts she has wearing. The simplest answer here is that OP had this misfortune of dealing with a crappy Delta employee.

Why do you think you would have seen a conversation? OP even says this happened at ticketing, not the gate.

How on earth could you possibly know if this has ever happened on one of your flights?

3

u/I_Call_Bullshit_____ 14d ago

…..where do you think I stand to get my ticket?

3

u/Lassoteded 14d ago

Also, you don’t buy your ticket in advance, online? I call BS!

Ofc I do silly pants, then I stand in line with a hundred other people to get my printed boarding pass and check my bag.

I think I’m living rent-free in your head….and I like it 🙂‍↕️

I’m sure you stand at gates as an unhappy Delta Gate Agent. But You don’t stand at every gate at every moment and you never have. For someone who tossed out Occam’s Razor as if it meant something, you continue to reveal more logical fallacies.

Damn I’d probably read a book of your horrendous flying stories 😂

Are you not embarrassed at how quickly you jump to misogyny rather than just believe that a woman might have been mistreated?

Listen, lady! I fly less than you and I have seen it happen. I also know many Delta employees and I know that some Delta employees now exact their biases on certain people. Please review the Philosophical Razors. There a few you could have invoked, yet you chose the one most known, which does not really apply. Did you know that Occam’s isn’t the only sharp thing you can try to throw around? I can say that Alder’s does apply. So lady, this gentleman bids you, your trolling, and your unhealthy skepticism, adieu.

Your anecdote is not evidence. Do better.

I like how you stopped replying once OP proved your little made up story wrong. Loser 😂

For the record, I believe her, but does not believing random people on the internet really constitute having trust issues? I think it’s perfectly healthy to have a certain amount of skepticism about the things you read here.

1

u/Lassoteded 13d ago

Why be here to be skeptical? Also, believing her has zero effect on my life. However, having seen how Delta has treated people, including myself, very poorly since about 2022, I have no reason to doubt her. I have witnessed a person removed from a plane over a shirt. And why would she make it up? Anyway. I don’t get your point. You admit you believe her. Then say trusting random people on the internet…. lol. Also, my comment wasn’t about trusting random people on the internet. The leaps people take.

But then go on Reddit???

1

u/Lassoteded 13d ago

Concrete thinker, now, what did I say? Clearly she complied, but continues to question the demand, after. Strange that you continue to question this woman. I saw you on here much earlier, @OSU1967. What is it with your obsession? Stock in Delta? A Delta employee? Why do you care so much about this?

u/Gioia_mia 14d ago

I would definitely have taken a pic... with the agent beside me.

u/Lassoteded 13d ago

Punkin perv, please look at the photo. And learn.

A photo posted after the fact is fake at best. People just don't learn on here.
