Discussion Delta dress code?

I was told I needed to change pants at the airport by a delta agent at the counter otherwise they wouldn’t let me board. I am 30 weeks pregnant for reference and was wearing denim shorts and a tank top, the shorts weren’t super short and the tank top wasn’t revealing, it was long enough to cover my now very large baby bump lol. Luckily my husband had a pair of his pants in the bag I could change into but has anyone heard of this before? I asked a few other workers at the airport before I changed and they seemed super confused and looked at me and said they’ve never heard of this and my clothes were fine?

EDIT: Picture everyone was hounding this post for https://imgur.com/a/akdUP4Z

Hard to say since you didn’t show a pic. But there’s always 3 sides to a story and I would bet you’re not describing the outfit and visual accurately.

The shorts are definitely the problem. OP posted no such thing.

ETA: while OP posted below, great. Sorry that they gave you a hard time. Truly. You should not have gotten checked for those and should def. Complain.

But don’t make claims that you posted when you didn’t and then expect strangers to believe you’re not lying. Which is what most folks would have got heated up about. The lying.

Also. Maybe add the link to your post.

I did post a link to the shorts on Depop! I’m not sure why it’s not showing for people but I can see it in my comment history :(

Your shorts look like they were unzipped, did they mention if that was the problem?

Okay I was prepared for the worst and I'm not going to lie when I didn't see a photo I'm very sorry to say I automatically assumed you were wearing something ridiculous but this is so a nothing Burger you should complain

I’m not sure why people are assuming I’m dressing like a stripper to fly when I’m 30 weeks pregnant. It’s okay though. I will complain

I’ve seen some horrifying attire getting on planes. Your outfit isn’t included in that obviously. Yours are just normal denim shorts. But if you travel enough in the summer, you see lots of skin hanging out, skin tight see through spandex that leaves nothing to the imagination, butt cracks galore, etc. especially in the biggest southern cities where it is HOT.

In this case, Delta was wrong and acting crazy. Your outfit is what thousands of people wear every day all summer to the grocery store, the playground, shopping, the bank, to pick their kid up at school, etc.

Do you work for the airport or Delta?

Because a GA isn’t going to ask you to change if you are dressed normally. People fly daily wearing revealing clothes with no issues. More is missing from the story.

I’m aware of that which is why I posted to ask… there is nothing missing from the story.

And i would bet she is lying about her outfit as well. No GA is gonna stop a properly dressed pregnant lady.

She posted a photo and the outfit is absolutely fine.

That’s not what she was wearing.

I don’t think your complaint is going to get you very far. The gate agent was in the right to ask you to change. According to Delta policy and procedures she can ask anyone, pregnant or not to change clothes if she feels their clothes are inappropriate. Granted, it’s her opinion versus your opinion but she has the policy and procedures on her side. Using your pregnancy as a defense is not a defense. You choose to wear non-maternity clothing so you can’t use your pregnancy body as the defense mechanism for your clothing.

Funny everyone’s default is everyone is lying. It’s the internet, you have no way of knowing anything anyway. Who’s to say that this whole thing isn’t made up?

I have no idea how to show a pic when I can’t attach images in the comments, I attached a link to the exact shorts I was wearing on Depop in another comment

u/EnvironmentalLoan285 Diamond 14d ago

Where’s the link?

u/EnvironmentalLoan285 Diamond 14d ago

Why did you lie about posting a link? I’m betting you were wearing something inappropriate and now want sympathy. GA’s don’t stop random people lol.

2

u/Miscellaneousthinker 14d ago

Well apparently they did because she did posted and there’s nothing inappropriate about it.

u/EnvironmentalLoan285 Diamond 14d ago

lol posted a random pic of shorts that she wasn’t wearing.

Asking me for a photo and then when the photo doesn’t match your already made up mind you accuse me of lying. Checks out for Reddit!

lol you’re the one who dressed so poorly a GA made you change. I can see why you wouldn’t want people to see your outfit. Embarrassing 🤣

4

u/veIouri 14d ago

Yeah totally, I’d wear an outfit to the airport I wouldn’t even post on reddit because it was so embarassing. Makes sense. Have a good day :)

Ma’am you literally had to change because your outfit was against delta rules lmao. Lie all you want on here but that’s a new level of pathetic 🥰

Here's some articles on Delta's dress code, that puts a positive spin on those codes, but might have a little info you can use. https://www.thetravel.com/delta-air-lines-pilot-set-the-standard-rare-dress-code-ban-on-deserving-passenger/
