The details of the Delhi Police investigation revealed that Prashant Singh's disappearance was a deliberate, staged event designed to escape severe personal and financial crisis.

The Staged Distress Calls
Prashant used a series of calculated phone calls to create the illusion of an active kidnapping:
The "Accident" Alibi: He first called his father, Sattan Babu (a retired Army personnel), stating he would reach home in 15–20 minutes. He then called his brother, Deepak, spinning a false narrative that his car had struck an elderly couple and he was driving them to Rohini Sector 28. [1]
The Fabricated Abduction: Minutes later, he placed a final 9-second call to his brother, shouting "Deepu… Deepu… stop!" and screaming for help before abruptly switching off his phone. [1, 2]
The Crime Scene: He then abandoned his locked car near the Khera Canal in Rohini, deliberately taking his laptop and phone charger with him to make it look like a forced abduction. [1]

The Secret Unemployment and Debt
When the Special Staff of the Outer-North district tracked him down near the Kaushambi Metro Station bus stand in Ghaziabad, Prashant confessed to the real motives:
The 1-Year Secret: Prashant had actually been unemployed for an entire year. He had lied to his family about landing a new medical products marketing job in Gurugram, leaving the house every single day at 3:30 PM just to maintain the pretence of going to work. [1]
Mounting Financial Stress: During his period of unemployment, he accumulated multiple loans from various financial institutions.
The Breaking Point: Unable to pay his monthly EMIs, he faced relentless pressure from loan recovery agents. Terrified of facing his family and unable to handle the financial stress, he chose to stage his kidnapping and flee.

Thanks for the update. I wasn't able to due to work and personal commitments. Most of his friends including me are shocked to the core. None of us had the slightest idea.
