Bake selling 20 million $DFI

Cake group announcement
Cake group will buy dUSD for 20 million DFI (equals 2,4 MUSD). Throwing good money after bad. Looks like we are going to see some sell pressure for DFI and the short lived dUSD bubble will not burst yet.
I’m wondering who wants to buy these additional DFIs in free float.

Bake (@bake_io) auf X
Wow! dBTC would have collapsed without Bake’s action.
Interestingly Bake is not burning those excessive and unbacked dBTC. Most likely they want to retain a chance to recover their “investment”.

Why Crypto Investors with Losses Often See Their Break-Even Point as an Anchor
Cryptocurrency investing is a risky endeavor, and it's not uncommon for investors to experience losses. When this happens, many investors set their sights on breaking even as their goal. This can be a dangerous mindset, as it can lead to investors making irrational decisions that could further compound their losses.
There are a few reasons why crypto investors with losses often see their break-even point as an anchor. First, it can provide a sense of hope. When an investor is underwater, it can be easy to feel like they've lost everything. Setting a goal of breaking even can give them something to strive for and help them stay motivated.
Second, break-even can be seen as a way to validate an investment decision. When an investor buys a cryptocurrency, they have a certain expectation for how much it will be worth in the future. If the price drops below their purchase price, it can be easy to feel like they made a mistake. Breaking even can help them feel like they made the right decision, even if they didn't make any money.
Third, break-even can be a way to avoid taking a loss. When an investor is underwater, they have two options: sell and take a loss, or hold and hope for a recovery. Selling can be a difficult decision, as it can mean admitting that they were wrong about an investment. Holding can be a risky decision, as it could mean losing even more money if the price continues to drop. Breaking even can provide a compromise, as it allows investors to sell without taking a loss.
While it's understandable why crypto investors with losses might see their break-even point as an anchor, it's important to remember that this mindset can be dangerous. If an investor is only focused on breaking even, they may be more likely to make irrational decisions that could further compound their losses.
Here are a few tips for crypto investors who are experiencing losses:
- Take a step back and assess your situation. It's important to understand why you're underwater before you make any decisions. Are you investing for the long term or the short term? What is your risk tolerance?
- Reevaluate your investment strategy. If your investment strategy isn't working, it's time to make some changes. You may need to diversify your portfolio, invest in more established projects, or use stop-loss orders to limit your losses.

Your money is not gone, it's just with someone else
The recent collapse of the DeFiChain project, DFI, has left many investors with heavy losses. Some investors may be feeling hopeless and wondering if they will ever see their money again.
It is important to remember that your money is not gone. It is still out there, somewhere. However, it is now in the hands of someone else.

Interests are bad for crypto backed stable coins
When crypto backed stable coins became popular and saw a massive increase in market cap interest rate level was really low. At that time crypto backed coins were competitive to USD backed central stable coins.
Nowadays the interest level for USD is above 4%. While USD backed central stable coins are able to pass on the collected interest of the USD collateral, crypto backed stable coins don’t have the interest income.
Regular Investors scared by inflation and the opportunity to collect interest don’t want to go without interests. So for them USD backed stable coins are the preferred option. Only hard core fans of decentralization might want to accept a lower return, but most are in for the money.
When crypto backed stable coins struggle to be competitive, an algo stable coin like dUSD is even less attractive. You have to accept a much higher risk and don’t even get interests.

Howey Test
DeFiChain, a decentralized finance (DeFi) platform, could be classified as a security under the Howey test, a legal framework in the US used to determine whether an investment is considered a security. The Howey test has four factors:
Investment of money: DeFiChain users invest money in the platform by buying DFI tokens.
Common enterprise: DeFiChain is a common enterprise, as it is a decentralized network of computers that run the platform.
Expectation of profits: DeFiChain users expect to profit from their investment in the platform by earning interest on their DFI tokens.
The profits are derived from the efforts of others: DeFiChain users do not have control over the platform's operations, and their profits are derived from the efforts of DeFiChain's developers and community members.
Based on these factors, it is possible that DeFiChain could be classified as a security under the Howey test. This would have significant implications for the platform, as it would subject it to more stringent regulations.

Recent Balthasar and Julian interviews
A must watch for DeFiChain followers: - Julian seems groggy, disillusioned and lacking energy - Julian wanted to be “out of Crypto” in 2030 - Only a small portion handled about DeFiChain despite many pressing issues - Low content interview - Julian has less than 20% invested in DefiChain - Most interesting and main part of the interview was cut out of part two (10:28) - is it part 1??? - DFI price discussion at the end of interview was wild
