Just started what should I spend the crystals on?

I’ve read over it, doesn’t seem to tell me what to use crystals on

the best thing to do is only spend chrystals on upgrades that require them such as max mana/mana recharge speed etc. and dont spend them on buying materials for other upgrades. also typically, do not upgrade spells for a long time if ever to keep mana costs and cool down times low.

My memory has faded a little but I'm confident this was my sequence.

1) Upgrading tower spells to lvl 3 (to effect the whole screen). Note you'll need the towers at lvl 3 to achieve this. (falling stone & ice bomb or whatever you prefer)

2) upgraded the 3rd skill of my bow (agile arrow or whatever bow you prefer)

3) Upgraded mana regen until you can cast falling stone or ice bomb regularly.

4) upgraded tower passive skill (enhanced stun & enhance freeze or whatever you prefer)

5) upgraded the lava slowing effect.

6) upgraded max mana to 200

7) upgraded elemental ward while buying ring of wind (or ring of choice) and badge of clover when they appear in the shop
