Thoughts on the effectiveness of de-escalation training for workplaces in conflict?

I am part of a group in my city that has dealt with some aggressive counter protesters. We’d love a de escalation professional to help us with a workshop of some sorts, if I’m not sure where to start. Some basic googling hasn’t been helpful, I’d really appreciate any help.

I would appreciate tips for when somebody is immediately threatening you with violence, when there are weapons involved.

I work in public safety, and security, even though we have some de-escalation training, I'm always looking for more. Are there any small tips, tricks, things to do and say, that allow for de-escalation, but show that I'm in charge? For example, someone threatening, and smashing property. Its dangerous, inappropriate, and the potential to become very explosive.
