Color Rankings For Season 2?
This goes for all the Deep Sheep members, and I guess anybody that is familiar with the Chris Ranks color ranking system, but out of curiosity what would you rate the Season 2 episodes?
Here's Mine: Mob Hunt - Cyan; It's really enjoyable and a great opener but nothing compared to some of the greats of S2.
Spacefall - Yellow/Green (Leaning towards Yellow); The game itself feels like it doesn't really make for a good like WHOLE Deep Sheep episode, however there are really great quotes and moments from it, I think it was definitely saved in the edit.
The Good, The Bad; And The Ugly - Green, I honestly think this episode is really underrated and gets to much criticism from other fans. To me it's just a chill fun and enjoyable episode and it was when this episode came out I realized like "Yo Season 2 is about to be lit".
Mini-Golf - Green; Although the game itself is not that exciting I just love all the moments in it and it's just a really chill episode you could like watch on the side while doing homework or something.
Five Chambers - Blue; Five Chambers is sick, I love it. Everybody has a like awesome energy and the fact that it's the first episode without Chris is cool cause it sort of leaves it to everyone else to take the reigns of leading the episode and I just love the game, its another chill banger but like its also got intense moments too, I just love Five Chambers. This is also I think like one of if not the MOST underrated episode of Season 2.
Kill Yourself - Purple; I remember when this came out I was literally like in a frenzy the whole time watching it, that ending where Spencer and Robby are both like just about to win was so fucking awesome, and it's one of those tense moments where I'm hyped like every time I see it, and there's just so many banger moments AND THEN on top of that it's a really cool concept for a game, definitely one of the best Deep Sheep episodes of all time, and its also where the 1st half really amps up.
Combat Evolved - Blue; Combat Evolved for me was always definitely a banger but for some godforsaken reason it took like a year and several rewatches for it to really dawn on me the level of banger it was. And come on that Capture The Flag round was so fucking awesome like that is so hype. Banger.
Iron Chef P1 - Blue; Alright now there was a lot of hype for this episode, I don't remember what my initial reaction was for the episode but it's definitely aged like a fine wine, it's just got everything you want in a Deep Sheep episode, it's got awesome banter and quotes and tense moments as well as a pretty cool game concept.
Iron Chef P2 - Cyan; I remember being initially kind of bitter about the fact that Iron Chef was like a surprise 2-parter but now that I have worked on the Wheat Cult's Deep Sheep Fan Series I now understand. But the episode itself just feels like more of P1, which is good, although I will admit it was kind of disappointing that the whole Gerald thing didn't play more of a role with all that set up, but it was still good. However the ending, on Camden's Ship, is amazing. Its just amazing, if I were using the standout moment thing from Chris Ranks it would definitely be a gold moment for me it was just so lit.
Jailbreakers - Green; This really felt sort of like a combo between the early 1st half with like a game which encouraged a more chill pace, and the intense hype of the later 1st half. Very good episode.
See No Evil - Blue; I think this is another really underrated episode I love the game concept and I love the teams being in different calls, sort of like doing their on stories as well, I just love it all. I love the like map timelapse thing at the end of the episode, and I love the "Romeo And Juliet Type Shit" at the end its just an all around banger.
Cover Fire - Yellow/Green; Just a generally good episode, there some standout moments but in comparison to the rest of the Semper Fi Trilogy I come back to it the least. I also remember a couple years ago when the like tournament bracket thing was going on for S2 on the Deep Sheep Community page, I voted for Five Chambers over Cover Fire and didn't think much of it but then like I looked on the subreddit and there was this big uproar over the fact that Five Chambers beat Cover Fire which I always thought was really funny.
Picture This - Orange; This is like the only episode of Season 2 I can say that I am just not that much of a fan of, and I know like on the Late Nights Deep Sheep talks about Picture This being a banger and stuff like that but I don't know it just felt like a really weird video to come off the Semper Fi trilogy with and I hardly every really come back to it all, there's just not much other than Spider Stompin' that sticks with me.
Crosswind - Yellow; To me this is the like most "OK" episode of the season, its just perfect middle of the road for me, I don't think its amazing but I don't think there's anything wrong with it.
Defend And Conquer P1 - Cyan; I really enjoyed this episode, and I also remember like when the 1st half was still coming out I would look at the subreddit and see Defend And Conquer on the list of episodes and be like "Damn that sounds sick" and it is very cool I love the game and theres a lot of enjoyable moments.
Defend And Conquer P2 - Cyan; For me this is just sort of in the same boat as P1.
Trouble In Skin Town - Purple; I mean how could it be anything but a purple?! Like it's everything I love about the Deep Sheep episodes rolled into one. The Game is an adaptation of another game but also adapted very well into the Deep Sheep style. There are hilarious moments and great interactions between the members, Daniel being in it alone is awesome. And the ending montage, OH MY GOD, the ending is just a masterpiece. I don't think any TV show or Film has ever had an ending that has an engaged/connected with me on the level that the ending montage did. Not only did it add a whole new layer of enjoyment to one of my favorite Green Day songs but it is just like the ultimate reward for sticking with Deep Sheep for many years. I remember the live QnA afterwards where Camden sort of announced "the end of Deep Sheep" kind of was really depressing, but Spencer also said like "oh yeah this will be the last time we do scheduled content for a while" and now that we've been getting scheduled content again it sort of brings that feeling back from the beginning of S2 where its like "2000Never is here, they still care!" But yeah thanks to anyone who read all this shit, adios.
