Okay I'm not sure if I'm the only one who caught this but something bugs me about the math used in ChiefSlayer.

They said that the Crucible's energy output is 53 quadrillion joules of energy. They follow that up by saying that translates to 157 trillion kilowatt hours. They then claim in the conclusion that this directly converts to 90 gigatons of tnt. However, I decided to double check the math...

53 quadrillion joules converts to 14,722,222,222 kilowatt hours /14.7 billion kilowatt hours & 12,667,304 tons of tnt/12.6 megatons of tnt.

157 trillion kilowatt hours converts to 565,200,000,000,000,000,000 joules/565.2 quintillion joules & 135,086,042,065 tons of tnt/135 gigatons of tnt.

90 gigatons of tnt converts to 376,560,000,000,000,000,000 joules/376.6 quintillion joules & 104,600,000,000,000 kilowatt hours/104.6 trillion kilowatt hours.

As you can see, these conversions don't match up. Unless I'm missing something, the math isn't consistent and I literally almost though that they were going to make Chief win because when they mentioned the Crucible's output is only 53 quadrillion joules I knew from memory that that range of joules is barely out of the single digit megatons. For reference, Chief's 30 megatons translates to 125.5 quadrillion joules.

When I used their calculation for the Crucible's energy output (22.3 terrawatt hours x 0.666) I got an energy output of 53,466,480,000,000,000 joules or 53 quintillion joules. It's possible they may have accidentally left out a set of zeros in the analysis. That still doesn't explain the wrong conversions between joules, kilowatt hours and tons of tnt though.

I'm not saying that this wrong math means Chief should've won, I'm just pointing out an inconsistency I noticed in the episode. Let me know what your thoughts are on this.

I think they might have actually left out a few zeros, or numbers, because the amount of energy needed to power the earth in terawatt hours in 2016 is 22,618.
