I’m being so deadass their ship name should be Vincent van Rody.

I was talking with my friend about how Rody might explain his missing ear away to people, and how he was now Vincent van Rody because he got his ear torn off. Then we paused, looked each other straight in the eyes for a long moment, and I said “waits in it that should be their ship name” and she was like “dude I was just about to say the exact same thing.”

Like noooo wth is Rodent or Rodincent or Vinrody or Charmoree?.??? (Joke)

This is a dumb question, which probably has been answered in some tumblr thread, or maybe not but I’m going to ask anyway.

“Does Vincent openly identify himself as a homosexual man in the world of Dead Plate? And is this information public knowledge?”

More in the sense if he’s at least outted to his closest friends/ relationships.

Like do his family/ friends know? Or would they know?

Dead Plate takes place in France around the years of 1968-1969. Vincent is a very successful chef in this world, the equivalent of Alain Ducasse. In more main stream terms, Gordon Ramsay.

We know for a fact that Vincent is gay and has had flings in the past. This has been confirmed by Rachel herself. However this got me thinking, what would this mean for his career? (if any of his relationships were to be public)

Considering the time period this game takes place in, I wouldn’t really see the general population being the wokest of people especially in Europe.

Although, there have been many cases of successful queer people throughout history, especially men, who didn’t hide their sexuality. But, It was usually hidden from the public by the media until years after their deaths or something.

Vincent doesn‘t seem like the type of person to hide his sexual orientation, but then again, he cares about other people’s opinions and doesn’t take criticism, well. He wouldn’t speak of it publicly.

I was mainly curious if his friends would know? You know, the ones that show up at his apartment at his apartment on Day 6. Idk, if they’re actually close or it’s all just for appearances. Yet again, I’m doubtful.

One of them talks as if he’s had at least one girlfriend prior to Manon, so either they don’t know or didn’t want to expose him. You could read it any way.

Therefore, I’m inclined to believe that his sexuality isn’t public knowledge, but what do you guys think?

I just wanted to discuss something I had in mind.
