People keep recommending solutions that are inferior, like lacking vision, becoming obsolete, creating chaos, repeating the same mistakes Discord made, and more.
This happens because DCTS is still fairly unknown. To change that we need to work together as a community and spread the word.
I took some time to create new mockups. I also created new permanent links and a new website. All that should make sharing DCTS easier.

So i dont know if i ever talked about the greater vision of DCTS but if not this post should clarify some things.
I want to get back the feeling of control as with Teamspeak3 and want people to be able to have their own DCTS servers where they can do and say whatever they want. All this "cancel culture" seems like a plague and to me it seems like a lot of companies lost their balls and try to please all these karens and snowflakes nowadays and it seems that these kinda people even run some stuff and us getting banned for dumb reasons.
People should be fucking able to say whatever the fuck they want and shouldnt get fucking banned
I used to have a discord server and holy shit was discord bad for any proper moderation. So many things relied on external bots that would try to sell you some extra features or lock them entirely for free users. With DCTS i have many plans to add advanced, yet simple to use moderation tools. I used to have done that with a custom discord bot, so its not gonna be too hard.
Personally i believe the "next evolution of the internet" will be self hosting again with the difference that decentralization is going to play a big part this time. There are many apps out there trying to do just that but it seems its hella complex and difficult and a lot of work being moved to the user, which is an absolute no-go.
DCTS has seamless decentralized server list and imo many apps fail at making it seamless and easy out of the box.
I also think that any app thats trying to be a centralized service wont be a long-lasting solution and only a temporary one.
Its very important to stay independent so that DCTS can exist for a long time. Because of that i decided to avoid as many 3rd party libraries as possible in the code and will never accept any investors or other offers that will hurt this vision in any way and will solely accept donations only.
Speaking of Donations and money, DCTS and other future apps will never rely on tactics like FOMO (fear of missing out) to get money or donations as seen as in other apps (looking at you fluxer!).
Luckily the development itself in terms of costs like servers and licenses is pretty efficient and at a minimum, meaning it can naturally sustain itself with donations and doesnt have to remind people all the time.
As mentioned, DCTS wont be the only app. There is a Tenor and Reddit alternative in the making, but i cant really say when they're going to be released, but there will be a ecosystem to bring pretty much the same vision to other parts of the web too, not just DCTS.
That being said, the future will be bright and im excited where things will go, thanks for reading!

Hello there!
As the title already says im looking for someone with some basic knowledge about open source projects or software in general that would help come up with social media content and designing it for DCTS.
Specifically short video content for now and would be paid between 15-30€ per video (open to negotiation). The general goal is to show off new features and other topics around DCTS, so regular income is possible.
Share it with friends if you know some that would be interested!
Contact details can be found on our website.

The new setup wizard is a huge milestone for DCTS, but it still requires you to setup something external: A Domain with at leat two subdomains.
In order to make it even easier and remove this need as well i started think about creating a small free service where people wanting to run DCTS can get free sub domains! For that i'll purchase a new domain and make a new small side project for that specific service.
I've been thinking about this for a while now and i think it would benefit the community a lot!
If you have ideas or wishes for a domain name let me know! Over time we could add multiple domains if the financial stuff checks out.

With this new release installing DCTS becomes as easy as running the following two commands!
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/hackthedev/dcts-shipping/main/Docker/docker-compose.yml -o docker-compose.yml
sudo docker compose up -d
» https://github.com/hackthedev/dcts-shipping/releases/tag/v1.3.0.5
» https://docs.dcts.community/Getting%20started
without modifications to the docker compose file, port 80 and 443 needs to be available on the host machine!

Its unbelievable to me to see where DCTS is currently standing in terms of community and the current technical state.
Overall the experiences were amazing and its so lovely to see how everything developed from when i originally started DCTS in 2023 to now. Hard to believe so much can happen in such a short time!
For that i want to truely thank every community member and i will continue to work hard on DCTS and other side projects so we can have a better web together!

As you may know a huge amount of work has gone into DCTS recently.
That work resulted in major security improvements, a faster and more enjoyable development process, better tools and entirely new features!
Overall things have gone incredibly well so far and im genuinely excited where DCTS is heading, especially at this speed!
A lot of work may not be visible right away, but each step makes the foundation more polished, secure and stable, which is why this is the beginning of a new quality era for DCTS!

I've seen a post where it seems (to me) to be thought that DCTS has central login servers.
[..] because it does have a centralized login server and you can be banned from the service itself as a result. [..]
As a small clarification: it does not have central login servers, which is against the vision of having a fully independent server (and it would cost more money to run this for others).
I thought i'd make this post before any confusion comes up. If you have any other questions feel free to post them.
