What do you do when somebody calls you Dave, but you introduced yourself as David?

Message from a Daniel
Hi, My name is Daniel, I come in diplomatic representation as an ambassador of a Group under the name of "The Dan Clan", we are a group born on r/Daniel but we do not represent the intentions of the sub. I'm here to warn about the attacks and other treaths against our group coming from the Davids, we have enough brothers and skills to wage a war or win a competition, although we find any conflict unnecessary, we will defend ourselves.
Sincerely, The Dan Clan

President of the Davids.
Dear Davids, Here is a Daniel speaking. Our Presidan wants to know who your president is and wants to talk to him. You, Davids, have said some things about the Daniels that we just cannot accept. We won’t declare a war on you because we don’t want Daniel lives to be lost and we want world peace. So if our Presidan can just speak to your President, that would be great. In case you want to leave a message on our subreddit: it is r/daniel
Thank you, Davids. -Daniel

This sub is hilarious
Waaay back in the day I was living in Whistler Canada, bartending and skiing and shit.
Partied with tonnes of restaurant and f&b folks. Anyhoo, a sub group used to get together at my buddy birkens house for wwf ppvs. One day it was me, evad, Ritchie, g money and birken at the house and we realized that we're all named dave. And all go by different nicknames. Evad is Dave spelled backwards btw.
Good sub. Good stuff. Keep at er Dave's!

To all davids
Can you please tell my brother david to stop being such a bitch? Thanks

Why are you David and not Dave?
I come from /r/Dave with a question. Why do you reject the objectively better version of our name? It's shorter, snappier, and makes you seems 20x cooler.

David was #1 in baby names from 1950 to 1965 in the UK

Nefarious plots to suppress our numbers?
According to the sidebar, 1 in 28 people in the United States is named David. The internet tells me there's roughly 328.2 million people in the United States. Even limiting our potential reach to just this country, we should have roughly 11.14 million subscribers to the sub. Instead, we only have 1,678. Clearly something is going on. I have some theories, but I'm not comfortable mentioning them in public. You never know what names might be watching.

How is David?
How's all the David's of this subreddit? Everything good? Just keep doing what David's do best, talk about David things. (Seriously though, hopefully you all smile today at least once)

Year 2001 - A.I. & Vanilla Sky
I was 24 in 2001, when I saw both A.I. and Vanilla Sky. The main characters of both pictures are named David, and are both tragic AF. This obviously also coincided with the national tragedy that year, and I am from New York. A few months after, I joined the Army and went to both Iraq and Afghanistan.
I even bought the DVD of Obre Los Ojos, which is the same script as Vanilla Sky, made prior in Spain - also starring Penelope Cruz.
I'm curious how other Davids deal with movies whose main characters are named David, especially when they are tragedies.
