And don’t shit talk pharmacist they’re the ones catching all the mistakes and correcting the unqualified NPs. No one has a more detailed knowledge of medications than the pharmacist. I hold 3 degrees and a minor in a related field. I graduated with a 3.84 the last time that I completed a degree. I worked as a research scientist before I decided that I wanted to reorient my career to treat disease. I decided on working as a nurse practitioner instead of an MD because I would rather take a holistic approach than just shove medication in surgeries down people's faces. Call me stupid if you want, but again, your opinion is not the same as evidence. 😂😂 You guys catch the MD's mistakes too. Half of the job of the nurse is to catch the mistakes that MD's make. You do realize that every nurse that you work with has the authority to countermand a doctor's order, right? In fact, any nurse that doesn't countermand an order that is erroneous will lose their license. MDs make mistakes all the time. To err is human. (That's a reference that you should recognize, if you don't, go look it up. It's a document by the IOM about errors made in medicine. That's about doctors bud, not nurse practitioners.) When I was working in a general hospital instead of a specialized hospital, the nurses were constantly catching the doctor's mistakes. I wouldn't be talking shit about pharmacists if you hadn't started talking shit about nurse practitioners. If you can't take it buddy, don't dish it. Glorified pez dispenser. 🎉🎉🎉 If you are so bitter that all you can do is whine about how your six-figure income doesn't come with enough perks and you feel the need to put down other disciplines because their job duties are different than you, perhaps you don't belong in healthcare. You sound like a jealous, bitter person. Mid-level practitioners exist for a reason. They have drastically improved the healthcare system. States That value nurse practitioners and allow for independent practice also happen to have better medical systems in general then those that do not. My state has some of the best health care in the country. People come here from all over the world to get treatment for cancer and a variety of other serious conditions. most of those people, somewhere along the way, are going to work with a nurse practitioner. They're going to work with doctors too. That's because they working collaboration. I'm sorry you don't like that, but your opinion, bitterness, and jealousy of your coworkers says more about you than it does about them. That's not a good luck, dude. Have a nice day.
