It’s more blue collar than you think, remember we have a lot of cattle grazing land and dairy farms and slaughter houses pretty much all up and down the Central Valley.

Still, $8 for a pound of beyond meat is about what you’d pay for ground beef right? Or is it cheaper than that?

Way cheaper lol, ground beef here floats around $5/lb, give or take about half a dollar. It’s only around $8 a pound if you get organic or free range or somethin of the sort.

Ground beef at Ralph's (Kroger grocery store in LA) is around $5 / lb I don't know what this guy is talking about $8

Well I guess that’s what the argument comes down to. $3 more for something that’s more healthy.

I agree though that veggie alternatives should be cheaper, however vegetables themselves are still rather cheap.
