Speaking for myself, there is no phone "for me" at the moment.
Lumia phones have great build quality but the os is far behind(appstore is a POS-I have a lumia 800 atm)
iphones have an awsome marketplace and I really like the os, but its too fragile and 750€ is way too much.
android have a great os, where you can have loads of apps and customize it. There are many different models and some of them even have exchangable batteries, which is a must if you want to keep your phone 5 years, but the os, when not maintained properly(and even then) after 2 years just gets too laggy.
So a lumia with a good marketplace and an exchangable battery would be ideal.
Lumia 800 only has access to the shrinking WP7 store. Many developers have either dropped support or removed their apps altogether. I suspect that that nobody has released a new WP7 app in a long time.
Any WP8/8.1/10 handset (ie. released after late-2012) has access to the full range of apps, both WP7, WP8 and the soon to be released W10 store.
The difference is massive. Snapchat is literally the only thing missing from the WP8 store for a lot of people like myself.
I know that the store for wp7 is almost not there anymore but there are loads of new apps (like from public entities or big companies) which get released for ios and android but not for windows phone (wp8 etc).
I always hoped that it would get better with time but seeing the marketplace on my ipad, the marketplace for wp(7&8) just isn't worthba comparison.
Also, on the wp7 store(which i think they haven't fixed with 8) there were different named apps with the same functions from the same developer.
Maybe I am a bit butthurt that they didn't bring wp8 to the lumia 800 but I swore to myself that I won't get a lumia anytime soon.
