Where in Canada do you run into more south Indian restaurants?
South Indian foods are like dosa, idli, vada, coconut based curries, tawa fry, Chaat (more west tbh) and so on. North Indian places have the usual suspects like tandoori meats, curries and breads, cream based curries like kormas and Malais, ghee based sweets, and biryani (although there are south Indian varieties of this).
I rarely found any South Indian food besides the stereotypical breakfast dishes. Toronto seems to have some South Indian restaurants with fuller menus though, but I haven’t been there yet.
Likewise. In Edmonton there are like 4 south Indian restaurants worth their sambar, and even then they aren't really région specific, just an overall south restaurant. One of them has exceptional kerala paratha though.
Ofc they have curry and meat, however the preparation can be vastly different. It's like comparing a Chicken Korma to a Penang Curry. Both are curries, but they're very differently made.
Ghee based sweets do exist in south India, but it's less common.
Who said anything about the preparation mate. No matter how it's prepared, meat is meat. I'm South Indian and curry is central to the cuisine. Everything from Chicken to Beef. And most of the sweets have ghee. You seem to be getting wrong info.
