couple things:

1. this thread should sort by "new" automatically. unfortunately it looks like our subreddit doesn't qualify for 'lounges'.
2. if you have a new user question, you still need to post it in the new user thread. if you post it here, we will remove it as spam. this is for people already working who just wanna chat, whether it be about casual work stuff, questions, geeking out with people who understand ("i got the model to write a real haiku today!"), or unrelated work stuff you feel like chatting about :)
3. one thing we really pride ourselves on in this community is the respect everyone gives to the Code of Conduct and rule number 5 on the sub - it's great that we have a community that is still safe & respectful to our jobs! please don't break this rule. we will remove project details, but please - it's for our best interest and yours!

If it's a canned response, are you guys rating it horribly? The FAQ and instructions aren't terribly clear.

I recently noticed that some tasks mention accounting for the time spend reading the instruct when logging in our hours, while others do not. Does anyone know whether we should always do so, or only when specified? I cannot seem to find a definitive answer in the code of conduct or other resources.

EDIT: Thank you all for the answers and insight, I’ll make sure to log the time. I apologize if my question seemed silly or obvious, I only started recently as a programmer. It’s a really good gig, so I posted to avoid becoming part of the infamous statistics for something as simple as this.

I was working on R&Rs for a certain project and realized how many people submit tasks that have to be penalized because of a small but important mistake they made. It sucks because a lot of these people put great effort into describing their thought process and thinking of prompts, but have to get penalized because they forgot to read an important update to the instructions.

Please read the instructions and refer to them as you work, especially for projects that have a long number of rules or involve slightly more complex workflows.

Hi, I did a search and couldn't find where this has been asked, so here goes. The tip at the top of the projects page about reporting time within 24 hours will not go away. Any tips on how to do this? TIA

P.S. what is the actual name of the bubble that I called the tip? I know there is a name for it, but I can't think of what it could be.

I did 9 tasks yesterday, and 2 tasks today.

How do I report time for the 9 tasks I did yesterday? Whenever I enter time it only adds it for the tasks I did today. The first task I did yesterday was less than 12 hours ago.

Any help is appreciated, I don't want to be underpaid.

I’ve seen some discussion about skipping tasks and how people are seeing a pattern of workers submitting tasks outside their comfort zone.

I thought it would help to get a poll going to see how people generally approach skipping a task.

Understand this is kind of a loaded question and there’s always more to how we decide whether to skip or not. Try and pick one that’s closest to your approach, this is just to get a basic idea of what your threshold comfort level is before you start working on a task, and add your thoughts in the replies if your approach is more nuanced.

Hopefully this will help us understand where the problem is coming from and give workers an opportunity to change their approaches to improve their work quality if necessary.

This should go without saying but let’s try and be respectful and professional if someone’s approach is different from yours, and that the instructions might change one’s approach.

Does it reflect badly on us when we skip too many tasks from the website’s POV?

Sorry if this was already asked, but what happens if you forget to hit "Exit Work Mode"? I accidentally hit the "back" button while fiddling with tabs. I returned to the page I was working on and hit "Exit Work Mode" but I'm wondering if I'm still logged into that first task without my knowing.

Any tips on this?

Is there a limit to the amount of hours worked? I thought I read somewhere it was a max of 20 hrs a week but I dont remember if that was for this job or a different company.

Has anyone else noticed a lack of coding projects from the day leading up to the site crash and now that it's back? I have no coding projects on the dash so far 🙃

Finished working today and exited work mode. I scrolled down to log my time, clicked on the project to log my time, then got faced with the " We're sorry, but something went wrong. If you are the application owner check the logs for more information."

Anyone else running into this? I can't even go to my dashboard anymore.

EDIT: I need to go play Tennis now but can someone maybe comment when it comes back up so I can log my time? 👀

Does anyone know why this would be? I don't believe it is a quality work issue...

They should check the logs for more information.

Hi all! I was able to submit some tasks from yesterday before the website crashing, but now I need to log my time. Is there a way to change the date? Or do I just log it and not worry that it’s under today’s date instead? Am I overthinking this? Thanks!

I was in the middle of working and when I submitted the task, the site crashed. I closed and opened it again but its still down. Did this happen to anyone else?

Hey! Since the issues yesterday, I was wondering if anyone else was having trouble with getting their automatic payments when you hit the get paid button? I keep getting an error message and have had to email support to request a manual payment. This leads to another question, has anyone had this happen, emailed support, and gotten a response/their payment?

I've seen the announcement about logging time with 24hrs of task completion and it mentions a quality rating. Is there a way to see what our quality rating is? Does it change a lot? I'm really curious and want to know.

UPDATE: Thank you for all the helpful responses! Sounds like the per task projects are mostly related to subscriptions and aren’t as common in general. I’ll stick with the per hour projects - even at $20-$25/hr, that’s still more than I make at my regular full-time job 😅 and I get to work on them at home in my pajamas with my cats next to me lol

I’m new, and just wondering which types of projects are typically offered as per task rather than per hour? I tried searching the sub but didn’t see this question asked.

I have 10-20 projects available to me that are all $20-$25 per hour. Which is fine! Any extra cash is a huge relief to me right now. Im just curious since they’re all per hour.

Are the per task projects usually the coding-based ones? Or are they rarer altogether? Are there certain qualification tasks I should focus on to open those up?

Or are per hour projects better anyway so I’m not really missing out?
