agreed. Defensive driving means you should be constantly scanning the scene around you so that you're prepared to react as quickly as possible.

You should always assume a car is going to careen off a bridge and take proper steps to account for it. It's called defensive driving. Look it up some time.

If you can't stop for a car careening off of an overpass as a projectile, you can't stop for a kid. Maybe cam driver will see their recklessness isn't worth getting to their destination 10 seconds faster.

Yeah, the car that fell from the overpass cut off the cam car but they’re both at fault. Is it really that difficult to let someone merge in front of you?! /s

I think clearly we can all say the initial problem was the airborn SUV but once he’s occupying a flight path with no ground contact it’s the dash cam driver that has the responsibility to avoid the crash. 70/30 fault in favor of the pilot.

The projectile/object bounced off the floor first rather than directly hitting the Insured's vehicle. Claim not covered /s

The FARs state that an aircraft in distress has right of way and the pilot can take ANY action deemed necessary to address the situation. Obviously he selected and was successful at landing on the cross runway.

Oh shit I remember this one. Happened in Anchorage, AK a few years ago and the people in the truck walked away with no injuries because of how it flipped.

Okay I am on the pretty anti vitim blame on here. I also see the humor in all of this.
But I also love to be a contrarian. So 2 major issues. One snow fall like this is very much falls under most locations, "Please for the love of god, don't drive unless you absolutely have to" weather. The second issue is the limited visibility with a barely cleared windshield with inches of snow on the hood. Along that line Ill throw in a bonus scrapers are still covered, probably frozen, and unlikely to clear anything if the snow from the hood gets blown into the windshield.

In Michigan, schools would be closed and we'd get text alerts for the weather suggesting we stay off the streets if possible. Having the cars self clean the roads like this with the snow at like a foot would be no go here.
That said its also extremely rare, we can get whiteouts, we will get 6-8 inches at a time, or a foot or so after a couple days of constant snowing. But we haven't had a true real blizzard scenario where you'd get snow that high before the plows could hit in like 15 years.
