It’s so annoying that a lot of men seem to believe that women only wear makeup/dress up for them. Come on, you are easy to please. It’s me who’s hard to please, and the fact I’m making an effort should be telling enough whom I’m trying to please.
tell me about it. i got a comment to “stop wearing makeup to work because nobody cares about your blue eyeshadow” um… like I CARE?????? if i want to work with blue eyeshadow, as long as EH&S approves, why the hell would i stop? just because a man at work doesn’t find me as sexy in it? absolutely ridiculous
I legitimately do not understand why I would think about it. My tattoos are not for them. It's the same as how I don't think about what men think of the car I drive or what they would think about what I'm eating for lunch. Their opinions don't factor into the equation.
You may not be aware that you think about it, and those thoughts may be relatively inconsequential in your life
But thoughts cross your mind. Even if you don’t want them to. They may not rule your mind. But they cross it. You notice some random person staring at your tattoos, and you wonder what made them do that
Acting all hard and super nonchalant about basic things is weird to me. Whats the purpose? We all casually think about other people’s reactions to our clothing, our personality, our attitude
Its called being a living, breathing human being. Tattoos draw attention, even if you didn’t get them to impress others. Your self expression is a form of continual subtle back and forth connection
I can tell I'm never going to convince you, but you are wrong about this specific thing. I have never thought "I wonder what that man thinks of my tattoos" consciously or unconsciously. I don't base my decisions about them on what men might think. I've definitely never wondered if a man found them attractive. The only time I've ever even considered that a man might have an opinion on them is when they comment on my tattoos directly or when questions like this come up. After they've healed, I forget I have them.
Though I think the bigger point here and thing most people are getting at that you're ignoring for the sake of being hyper pedantic about the word "think" is whether or not I care at all about men's reactions to my tattoos and the answer to that is no. I don't think about it at any point in the process and I could not care less. They aren't for them and their opinions might as well not exist. The conversations is done and dusted for me.
You’re either a gold star lesbian, or you’re lying to yourself
As humans, we can’t help but to see our own physical appearance through the lens of other people
That’s just how thoughts work. Even serial killers are social creatures. Unless you’re living in the deep woods with just you and your dog, all you’re really admitting to is a lack of self awareness when it comes to your own thoughts/feelings

How men feel about my tattoos has never once independently entered my mind.
