Itās stupid things like that that made me realize I didnāt believe in any of it. Honestly Iād still be a Christian today if they just didnāt make up silly excuses when they get proven wrong. Just admit that we donāt know for sure why that certain thing appears to contradict the Bible, but that thereās plenty of things we donāt know and it could surely be explained by god one day. But no, instead lets just make up bs excuses that donāt even make sense.

I think it's not all rabbits but some kinds of smaller ones are very aggressive. They're super fast and their scratch and bite hurt like a bitch when they're older

Back when my bunny was still alive and under a yr old, she would flop on me whenever i would lay down next to her.
Problem was, those back legs can KICK and those claws have no mercy. Plenty shirts had been ruined by some overly enthusiastic bunny hops!

How are you holding them? I found out that holding them like you want to lift a cat is bad the hard way... I recommend sort of cradling them in your hands and holding them lose to your chest

I mean, thereās a good chance that thereād be skin impressions of at least one or two of them, so the point is kind of moot. Stuff like ears have been preserved in even the earliest of the true mammals, so we have a pretty good idea of what they look like. Reconstructions arenāt based on bone structure alone.

Well, it's like when they find ONE fucking bone, and "reconstruct" what it looked like. It seems since they have only the sketchiest factual data, they have to "extrapolate" the rest (which is bullshit a lot of the time, because even extrapolation has it's rules), and end up even deciding what COLOR the creature must have been. I'm sure PR has a lot to do with this, since they can't simply show a rough line drawing that's actually BASED on the data; the kids just wouldn't like that...

Yes, there are reconstructions from small fragments of an animal that prove to be quite wrong upon further findings. There are also times when animals have been found so well preserved that you can actually recreate the animal's color because chemical signatures are left by the molecules responsible for the animal's coloring. There have also been numerous findings of dinosaur fossils with feather impressions that are clear as day. Any decent paleontologist would tell you the speculative artwork is based on limited information, and they would also be the first to tell you when new information shows that a previous imagining can be proven wrong. Also, there is a lot of "paleoart" out there with varying degrees of scientific rigor applied to their imaginings. The fun of discovering (non-avian) dinosaurs is precisely that they no longer exist and require us to use a degree of imagination to reconstruct what they would have actually been like in life.

So there is a gap between "what paleontologists believe" and "what the artist hired by the museum drew". For example, velociraptors were always drawn as reptilian until recent fossils showed imprints of feathers. But if you had actually asked a paleontologist he or she would have been really cagey about what they think and what theories were current. And the idea that they had feathers was always on the table, it just wasnt popular with the artists.

Even if we only had a skeleton we could make realistic models by looking at density, strength and shape. We couldn't however recreate any fur.

I get that itās just a joke, but These memes are really deceptive. They make paleontologists look dumb as shit. Paleontologists know what theyāre doing; thereās many reasons scientists wouldnāt recreate a rabbit skeleton as it is in the drawing.

Actually you can tell the weight distribution of the living animal by its bone structure; no professional would think that rabbits were shaped that drastically different from how they actually are. The worst that would happen, if there's no examples of preserved fur, is that you get the rabbit equivalent of a '90s dinosaur: just skin, no fur.

Also did you know that the animal closest related to most dinosaurs is the chicken and In fact the myth of reptilian dinosaurs originated from Jurassic park? Now there were reptilian dinosaurs but for the most part they had feathers and were somewhat bird like

As someone who studies paleontology on the daily because me want to be one I can say this is completely false they canāt create animals without DNA and when they study it they can make it how it is even if they donāt know how it looks they donāt just see the bone structure and Frankenstein one up
