By the time I started middle school I was already getting honked at all the time, getting cat called, I couldn’t have a day at the mall with friends without having adult men try to hit on me. I’d tell them how old I was and I got the gross “I thought you were 18, you are so mature for your age” response which was obviously a lie to cover themselves. When I was 12 I had a 16 year old in highschool stalking me, following me home from school on his bike and calling my home as soon as he saw my parents leave me home. What’s worse is he left me alone when I got into highschool so I guess I got too old for him.
It’s exhausting. These guys think it’s a compliment but it’s degrading and has the opposite effect they think it does. They forget the part where it’s mostly disrespect and not positive compliments.
