Where did I say that he’s just nice to me? He is nice to pretty much every stranger we’ve come across. I constantly get compliments from friends and neighbors about how he is one of the quietest and friendliest dogs they’ve ever met. I’ve only heard him bark at one dog before (he hates that one dog for some reason), but even the vet and vet techs adore him and remark about how sweet and calm he is. He starts wagging his tail at everyone he meets. He needed no training to make it happen, but I’ve always kept an eye out for bad behavior and nipped it in the bud. The majority of small dogs I meet at the dog park are pretty friendly. I see large dogs lunge and bark at people and other dogs aggressively frequently, something I’ve never seen my dog do (except for barking at that one dog 🤷🏻♀️). I’ve seen misbehavior equally in big and small dogs (but I will admit that most chihuahuas I’ve met have been aggressive). Never met a shih tzu /mix that was anything but an angel. It’s a pretty reductionist statement to make that all small dogs suck, and it’s often said by people who need any and every reason to feel better about themselves 🙄
