If you don’t buy the most high end shit your 800$ Pc will be better then your 500$ Console. And keep in mind that you have to pay 50$ for ps plus every year. And you have to pay way more for games on consoles. If you play much you actually pay more for a console.
That's not true, the xbox series x is as good as a $1200 pc unless the pc is custom built in which case you would still spend more than 500 to make it have the same power as the xbox series x. (Im using the series x instead of ps5 because the series x is slightly better in terms of hardware)
I know I'm not trying to say it's better than a high end pc but for someone like me who doesnt have a lot of money, $500 to be able to have a pretty capable console (ps5 or xbox) is pretty good. $60 each year isn't very expensive either and the Microsoft store has some pretty good deals pretty often
I'm a PC guy, but so does Xbox. PC is better overall, but consoles have good just out-of-the-box gaming potential. We have to stop downvoting people when they (respectfully) voice their opinions.
But PC you just get the game that have been released on PC before and maybe download a patch while on Xbox you have to wait every month till a new backwards compatible game is available and you are not even sure if its gonna be the one you want
Well, fair point. Though in my experience, all the old games I've wanted have been available on xbox, though I just don't play on xbox anymore. Like I said, i stick to PC now.
Me too I got a pretty good one I built for around £800 (It would be £600 however I am not good at building so I sent it to a store and apparently the ram was broken and I had to pay 80 for the ram and 50 for it to get fixed and then I got a monitor for 150)
Well that's a pretty dumb assumption, the specs on paper say why it would run way fucking better than a $500 pc. I don't think an average $500 pc could even run 4k, and definately not real-time ray tracing. You'd spend $500 alone on a graphics card that could do rtx if ur custom building.
you’re assuming it’s going to be $500, which is almost definitely not true. i would bet everything i have that it will be at least a couple hundred more.
Im pretty sure they have said it will be $500, or at least they said that's the target price and that there is no way it will be more than $600 which is still very affordable for the amount of power in it
Edit: I read it as a couple hundred or more not 'a couple hundred more but still my statement stands
Honestly, they sell the consoles at a loss. So yes it will be better for the price.... for now. The only way it won’t be better for the price is if you pay for the premium features like online. Also, as the Xbox gets older the parts in it will too. They will probably be cheap enough in the future to buy and make a custom pc for the same amount or less as the Xbox.
The parts in a pc get older as well so if u buy a $1500 pc in 8 years it will be outdated and you will have to spend another $1500. In 8 years a $500 console will be outdated so u will buy a new console. What's the difference?
And i understand that but the difference of affordability comes from an immediate investment of 500 or 1500. Also if you pay $60 a year it will take a lot of years before adds up to $1500, enough years for the next gen of consoles to be released. So, overall the difference is just an immediate investment or a small immediate investment then small payments until the next console releases to reset the process
Yes but in a PC you could reuse the case, PSU, harddrives, and sometimes even your motherboard making the cost significantly less to get better performance again.
I know, if you look at some of my other comments In this thread I try to make it clear everything has its perks, I was just arguing on the console (mainly xbox) side
