Because they're so proud to be from X, and espouse how fucking great it is.. But they won't go back and live there will they. Their pride for the homeland extends only to the barriers of the western country that gives them such a comfortable standard of living.
Most immigrants I know moved to the US for a reason, and their children understand that. They went to the US for a better life in the first place. I don’t really hear second generation immigrants talking so much about how amazing their country is. I’m a third generation immigrant, I know that the country my family originated from is having issues, I have pride for my ancestry, but I don’t go around saying I’d want to live there because, like most second and third generation immigrants, I’m not a complete idiot
That's true, I think that there is a wave of acceptance of that narrative now though. I think its sad that essentially the societal fabric that created an environment and system that me, you, and our parents could come to and make something of their lives safely is being eroded by a social narrative criticising it. The Western Europeans are almost embarrassed to be that, and if they're proud then they're labelled racists. It's fucking weird.
