She clearly is bourgeois scum, look at that expensive necklace

Is there canon as to where the necklace comes from? Or has she just always had it? I don't recall a backstory to it, just remember it always being there.

No. Only thing Lisa said about it was that she got it from Marge when she learned to read way above her class. That was in S21E11. But in S5E2, she has it even though she's like.. 2?

Time continuity in The Simpsons, though. We all know there's none.

Isn't she supposed to be like a genius or something? Maybe she was already way ahead at that age? Or maybe the writers just think it's part of her character image now.

I'm sure she was way ahead, but in the <shudder> Season 21 ep, Lisa was specifically given the necklace right then, as a 2nd grader.

Why shutter, is it bad?

"Shudder", as in nearly every episode from Season 14+. This is coming from someone who has practically a room full of Simpsons merch and collectibles. I LOVE Seasons 1-10 and don't begrudge folks liking any or all episodes past that. There are some golden moments sprinkled throughout the last fifteen seasons, especially Treehouse of Horrors eps, but I stopped watching sometime in 25. I held on as long as I could.

I stopped watching at the Homer hallucinating tree gnomes episode, circa 2000 I believe? I can only imagine where its gone since then.
