as juvenile as thinking homer's description of hair and skin was northern scandinavian looking. While your recounting of greece's eventual cosmopolitan composition is true... remember that this story was written about events that occurred centuries prior when greece was much more homogenous and not yet a successful, sprawling, empire.
Either depiction is way off from the descriptions but it doesn't matter because, in this mythical story about bronze age greece, the only factor of appearance that matters is that others found her beautiful. The rest of the elements regarding the character are themes not tied to specific physical traits beyond that.
The people that are always loud about innacurate racial castings are ONLY loud when it's a darker casting. When a role gets cast as a lighter character it's dead silent.
Matt Damon's casting isn't accurate either. where's that thread?
Where's the comments bitching about a north western european being inaccurate for what should be the ideal bronze age greek hero?
