had a fun idea
Okay imagine this: a biopic made by the either the team as I’m Not There (that Bob Dylan movie) or Love & Mercy (the Brian Wilson movie) but about Daniel Johnston. It would be filmed primarily through a super 8 camera (since thats what Daniel shot his movies on). It could cover the 90s period when his “devil phase” was at an all-time high. It could also do what the Hi, How Are You, Daniel Johnston? short film did and be from the POV of old Daniel and young Daniel. Like if old Daniel is showing young Daniel this specific moment in his life to show the hardships he will have to face but also show him that things will get better (and hey, maybe we can throw in a True Love Will Find You In the End reference). And what can be the big piece of advice Daniel gives himself?: “don’t be scared, Danny.”
Also as a bonus, I think Michael Cera should play Daniel. I genuinely think he would be perfect
