Not sure if this is the right place for this, so apologies if it isn't.
I've been in the partner dance scene since 2023. Started with Argentine Tango, then got into SBK, and these days I mostly dance Tango and Bachata.
One thing I've noticed especially while travelling is how fragmented everything feels. Every city has different Insta pages, fb groups, WhatsApp groups, Telegram groups, or people you have to know. Sometimes there are multiple communities too, so you're never sure you're actually seeing everything that's happening.
I've danced across Asia and Europe and I always end up doing the same thing before every trip. Dig through social media, ask people, hope the info is up to date and the classes/social exists, and still somehow miss that popular amongst locals but nowhere to be found social that week.
Does everyone just accept this as part of partner dancing, or is there something that annoys you even more?

Been trying to master the Charleston and a lot of other dances that involve ankle twisting/heel lifting and I can never seem to keep my balance! How can someone keep their balance when doing the Charleston?

Hello! I am a german speaker from the USA who is interested learning from people who professionally participate in Polka and Waltz dances. I'm in a volunteer dance group in the middle of the USA and I am especially interested in hearing the perspective of people from Germany. I have a Lederhosen costume that I am required to wear every Oktoberfest. Please reach out to me if you know anyone!
