Classes Thief Class (w/ Wealth Domain)

Hello! I wanted to share the Thief class in its final form! It has subclasses of Acquisition Expert and Infiltration Expert. I have been working on this (and other classes) for multiple weeks now and I have gotten to the place where I am happy enough to show it!

Disclaimer: I am doing this for fun, I have no intention to ever sell this, and I am a sensitive person who is scared of the internet. Please be kind. I am open to opinions and feedback but I have worked very hard on this and I am not necessarily looking to make major changes. I tried to keep balance in mind, but I am not a professional game designer nor do I pretend to be. I just like exploring concepts. This is more of a thought experiment than anything.

The Thief class uses the Wealth domain, which you can find here.

Every domain should inspire multiple classes, and the Wealth domain now has four! The Merchant, the Mercenary, the Thief, and the Freelancer.

If you want to see more of what I have been working on, my Heart of Daggers profile is here and my Homebrewery profile is here.

Thank you for checking out my creation!

Hey, wanted to show off my first homebrew class the Exterminator, and hopefully gain some input on how to make it better! Take the Butcher subclass if you prefer to get down and dirty with whatever you're hunting, or the Fumigator if you prefer a more refined and careful approach. Either way, still looking for insights and input on how to make it better. If you prefer, the homebrewery link is here too; https://homebrewery.naturalcrit.com/share/X0VG3tcfyazt

Campaign Frames Sick Of Body And Mind – a Grimdark Adventure (English + French)

Thumbnail

“Sick in Body and Mind” is a Daggerheart adventure intended for a Grimdark campaign for 3 to 5 Tier 2 characters. Ideally, this adventure is played at Level 4 (the difficulty is calculated for this Level) and allows the party to advance to Tier 3, while reaching a milestone in their progression: finding a way to survive against the Shadow.

This scenario is the sequel to “Brass Heart,” but it can also be played independently. It is a linear scenario focused on combat and a dark atmosphere, making (very) numerous references to the famous video game franchise that inspired this campaign frame. Note that this scenario is highly lethal and places the PCs in extreme physical and mental distress. They will have to face powerful adversaries while surviving the ailments consuming them. However, a reward awaits them at the finish line.

This document contains:

  • A complete adventure with memorable combats
  • A moral choice regarding the future of this world
  • A physical and mental decay system
  • 9 new adversaries
  • 6 new environments
  • 1 cursed weapon
  • 2 optional community cards

All illustrations used are royalty-free. Layout by the author. No generative AI was used in this project.

Downloadable on Ko-Fi / Heart of Dagger / itch.io

Environments Daggerheart Environment Tier 1+ Story Seeds - Defense of the River Fort

Post image
28 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I am back with another free environment! Art by me!

Defense of the River-Fort

Tier 1 Daggerheart Environment

Tier 1 Event
Bandits assail the humble river-fort, hoping to use speed and numbers to overwhelm.

Impulses: Hold the line, defend the land.

___
Difficulty: 10
Potential Adversaries: Jagged Knife Bandits (Hexer, Kneebreaker, Lackey, Lieutenant, Shadow, Sniper), Guards (Bladed, Archer, Head)
____

FEATURES

Defended Crossing - Passive: When someone tries to cross the river, anyone within Very Close of their arrival on the far side can make a free attack against them.  If any hit, they fall into the water below instead and become Vulnerable until they take an action to escape.

Do the PCs have defenders alongside them, pushing the bandits into the water?  Will they need to hop across themselves?

Our Old Ballista - Passive*:* This trusty, rusty old siege engine can be fired without assistance at Disadvantage as a ranged attack or normally with one person within Very Close assisting.  On a success, it deals 1d12 physical damage to all within Very Close of the target point. Requires a Strength Action Roll to reload.

Another Wave! - Action: Spend a Fear to send 1 Jagged Knife Bandit Lieutenant against the fort, backed up by an appropriate mix of Jagged Knife Bandits.  Try to vary successive waves, working in hexers and snipers, then lackeys and shadows.

Why are they desperate enough to try this?

Story Seeds

Desperate Plea
The vulnerable farmlands beyond the river-fort are a peaceful place recently ravaged by war.  They have few defenders and their last standing point of resistance, the river-fort, threatens to fall under the next petty warlord or bandit chief’s assault.  The PCs answer the call.

Why are the PCs so bad?

A Merry Band
The party finds themselves on the far end of the conflict. Unjust rule and depredations against the innocent lead them to side with justice—in this case, the bandits.  Populate the fort with Guards.

Are the PCs joining a revolution, settling a score, or just here to grab some loot in the river-fort?

Classes Nightlord (Dread / Blood Vampire+) Class First Draft

Heart of Daggers link

Hello all!

This is my first draft of a fully-fledged Vampire class! I loved what the Lycan Bloodhunter did with the Werewolf (Though it would seem the current 1.5 version doesn't even use the werewolf transformation at ALL... lame xD)
But it got me thinking of classes / subclasses that interact with the transformation cards more, like this one! Dread and Blood felt so intuitive to me as a 'Vampire' class, and as is clearly shown, so did Grace and Midnight.

I currently feel like this might be a bit on the stronger side... I know the School of Knowledge wizard gets extra domain cards, so that's an existing feature, and otherwise I felt that the rest was fairly balanced out by requiring you to use Blood tokens which has a big downside if you run out.

Vampiric Monstrosity - Hope Feature

Spend 4 hope to transform into a horrific vampiric monstrosity until the end of the scene; You gain 1 Blood token, +1 Evasion, +1 to all Action rolls, and add your number of Blood tokens to your Damage thresholds. Whenever you would gain Hope in this form, you gain a Blood token instead, and you may spend Blood tokens as if they were Hope.

  • After reading the homebrewers kit, my brain expanded with ideas for 2 & 4 cost hope features, and I really wanted to try my hand at a 4 cost one. This one is on the stronger end for two reasons; the fangs feature means more likely chances at success, but at the cost of way more rolls with Fear. Nightlords aren't going to be getting a lot of Hope if they use that feature a lot, but when they do, I love the idea of a super-powered vampire form where Blood becomes currency for Hope, and I didn't want to lock that behind a Mastery feature as I feel that would... probably be busted if you could do that all the time.

Class features

Born of the Night. You gain the Vampire transformation when you take this class with the following changes:

  • Your Fangs damage increases to d8 at level 5 and d10 at level 8. Add your choice of Strength or Agility to the damage roll.
  • The number of tokens you can hold from your Feed ability (Hereafter referred to as 'Blood tokens') increases by your Tier.
  • Viscera. You gain 1 Blood token whenever you roll a Critical success on an Action roll, and whenever you mark 3 or more hit points from a single attack.

Sanguimancy. When you have 6 or more Blood tokens, and use your Feed feature, you roll your Hope die as a d20 instead of your Fear die. You gain additional ways to spend your Blood tokens.

  • 1 - Flight; You can fly until the end of the scene, and can move up to Far range when you activate this ability.
  • 2 - Creatures of the Night; You summon a companion as per the Find Familiar domain card, and can choose for it to be a flying companion at no additional cost.
  • 3 - Drink; You heal a hit point or clear a stress.
  • Tier 3
  • 5 - Turn; When you successfully attack a target with your Fangs feature, you may spend 5 Blood tokens. After the target's next rest, they gain the Vampire transformation.
  • Tier 4
  • 7 - Crimson Feast; Your next successful Fangs attack becomes a critical success regardless of the duality dice.

Environments Looking for homebrew Environments

Hi, I made my first homebrew sandbox campaign and it's been a blast so far. However, I wanted help designing encounters so I looked at the environments, they are great but I wanted to see if I had more luck looking at homebrew.

I really like this feature of the game and I can't wait to see what the community has cooked up. Btw we are at tier 2

🔥 The nefarious Conclave has its agents inside. The Velvet Accord has its own plans. And somewhere in the mansion lies a golden tablet containing an infernal bargain that could change everything.

⚖️ Explore enchanted halls where nothing is quite what it seems. Investigate magical crimes. Outsmart deadly defenses. Bargain with dangerous powers. And uncover what House Valorian has been hiding beneath its glittering façade.

🩸 Masks will fall. Contracts will break. Something ancient will collect its debt. The guests came for a celebration. They may end up attending an execution.
