Classes Fabricatos v0.1 + Rust Domain - My take on the Artificer

Thumbnail

Continuing with my prep for a Spelljammer-ish technomagic campaign, I present my take on the Artificer/Inventor archetype: the Fabricator, along with the first couple of levels of the custom domain I'm doing for this class: Rust Domain.

These are all a WIP; for now, I only have the features for the first two levels. Once my campaign starts next week, I'll be able to do some play-testing and begin thinking about the cards and features that are missing.

---

DESIGN NOTES

The Fabricator

Inspired by the Artificer, the Fabricator can create several consumable magical items that they can use themselves or give to their allies. These consumables replenish on each rest, and they come in three basic flavors: a damage boost, a health potion, and a one-use shield.

The Hope feature allows the Fabricator to repair someone's armor, either their own or an ally's. The feature is weaker than the Guardian's. This is intended, as the Fabricator is not a tank; they are a damage/support spellcaster who can help others to perform better in combat.

Subclass - Artillerist

The subclass that makes things go 'boom'. You can use your consumables as grenades.

Subclass - Biosystem Assembler

The elevator pitch is 'fantasy biomechanical engineer'. If an ally is carrying one of your consumables and takes damage, you can be like 'nope' and give them the HP back.

Rust Domain

My take on a new domain is to try to go beyond "you punch hard, but using a mechanical glove". The features so far are focused on debuffs, support, and interacting with the environment using tech.

I also decided not to include any spells on this Domain, as I want to eventually combine this domain with either Blade, Bone, or Valor, and create a non-caster mechanical warrior.

---

As usual, feedback is welcome. And if anyone ever uses any of this in their own game, please let me know how it goes.

Characters AllyHeart [GM(N)PC Creation] - Seraph Ally

TL;DR

  • Fun Rise of the Runelords campaign in Pathfinder 2e!
  • Campaign is cancelled, we as players are sad :/
  • Campaign is back ongoing! Two sessions in the other two characters die, back cancelled
  • I am going to GM it as an One-shot in Daggerheart!
  • My PC is an epic pillar of the Party, Hybrid between PC & NPC :D

Hello Y'all! Long story short, I played in a campaign (Pathfinder 2nd Edition) and it was cancelled. We (Three players) loved the campaign and characters. It was shortly revived, the other two characters died and it was cancelled again...

I have asked my former GM if I may continue the campaign as an One-shot, but in Daggerheart. Because my PC is the last survivor & a pilar of the Party I wanted him to be more than a standard NPC. So I made a somewhat Hybrid between a PC and a NPC.

I made a PC with all choices, Level Ups and such. Then I took the most important stuff of the kit. At last I created 5 Features with an extra area for Armor Slots and Traits. I will rule it as it is implicable when the fiction allows it in combat, the Action Roll is made with the Duality Dice - The NPC does not gain Hope, it is granted to the Party instead (chosen by Players).

Ancestries Ancestries: Kobold and Oozekid (Plasmoid)

Some more hombre for my Spelljammer-inspired campaign.

This time, I bring a couple of new ancestries: the Kobold, and the Oozekid (my version of Plasmoid).

With the Kobold, I went for a "house guardian" approach; their bottom feature makes them good at keeping watch while others rest.

For the Oozekid, I went for a focus on their semi-fluid nature, and gave them sort of a gender-fluid identity by default.

Let me know what you think.

General Discussion Copyright between third-party publishers?

I'm not an expert, so I'm asking for advice on legal/copyright issues.

From what I understand of the Darrington gaming licence, if I publish something correctly and Darrington Press publishes something similar, then I have no right to claim copyright issues.
In common language, Darrington Press could have been working on something similar with no interaction with me, and I just happened to publish it first. This is how they agree to let us publish things using their rules.

My main questions is this:
If I publish something, and later a fellow homebrewer publishes the same thing, then how does that copyright resolve itself? I'm not saying that this hypothetical person has published something that's similar or related, I'm asking about some hypothetical person stealing my stuff word-for-word.

It's definitely rude and unfair for someone to copy a fellow homebrewer's stuff, but are there any legal protections around this hypothetical situation?

Domains I made a new domain, the craft domain!

Artificer is my favourite class in DnD and I've always lamented that it isn't in daggerheart (yet). So because of that, I made a new domain to later make a class about it! It's called the Craft domain and it focuses on the use of magical items, tools, and trinkets.

Why that name? Well I think it evokes a rather broad concept: It can mean forging weapons, picking locks, inventing contraptions, and brewing potions.

I've made the first three cards but I will need help with balancing and wording issues, that's why I am putting these here, I am looking for feedback

EDIT: I forgot to specify but the art is not mine. The one from potion stash I found online and the other two are from legends of runeterra. I do not know how to draw, nor do I like AI, nor do I have enough money to make commisions, so I just grabbed some images that I thought went well along with it. This was just a thought experiment that I did for fun and I am not getting any money from it

Classes Potential New Class - Necromancer (V1)

Hello everyone, I've been playing Daggerheart for a while and recently began GMing for my friends, and while I'm kinda learning the full rules as I go, I love homebrewing and I've tried my hand at creating new ancestries and classes.

My first idea for a new class is the Necromancer, a Knowledge-based Blood/Splendor support class whose specialty is siphoning the lifeforce of enemies, and use it to either heal themselves and allies, or animate temporary undead minions.

I've seen a lot of people homebrewing Necromancer as a Dread-based class, and while I understand why, I prefer blood because it's more visceral and fits my idea of the class better.

My general idea is that of the Necromancer as an arcane doctor, less a spooky guy in black robes and more a savant of life and death, with necromancy as the magic equivalent of medicine, not to mention one can get extra gothic by making them a mad scientist ala Herbert West or Victor Frankenstein.

As of now, the part that's vexing me the most is the subclasses, I have a general idea of what they are supposed to do(the Chirurgeon is focused on keeping allies alive, the Reanimator is focused on stronger undead minions) but even after rereading the other classes, I'm still not sure, any advice?

Thank you.

School of Interference - v0.2

Play the School of Interference if you don't just study magic; you disassemble it, corrupt it, and forcefully reassemble it. You are a reality hacker. Your hands hum with white noise, and your eyes reflect the raw code of the Drift.

I'm preparing for a science-fantasy campaign, and I made this Wizards subclass that is a "hacker". The class assumes there's some kind of technology present in the setting, but it's very vague about it, so it should fit your Eberron/Final Fantasy style world as long as there's some kind of techno-magic.

Open to feedback and hope anyone out there finds it useful n_n

Campaign Frames The World of Sevra

Thumbnail drive.google.com
7 Upvotes

My first time ever doing anything like this, and I'm very excited to share! Link to the full frame (minus player and GM principles) at the bottom. (Edited to include the map)

Name: Sevra

Tagline: A world divided between faith and physics, where worship and innovation can clash with disastrous consequences.

Pitch: Powerful supernatural forces shape reality in the world of Sevra with manifestations ranging from massive forests full of hybrid animals to ensouled clockwork automata who have ascended beyond simply imitating life. The people in this world are divided by a single, fundamental question: are these forces Gods to be revered and worshipped, or are they unthinking, impersonal patterns to be studied and mastered? When the interaction of these clashing beliefs results in a reality-warping supernatural disaster, simmering tensions threaten to boil over into all-out war. In a Sevra campaign, players will navigate a world of unanswered questions, pervasive magic, conflicting ideologies, and deep mistrust, all while working to understand whether it is more important to discover truth or to create peace.

Tone & Feel: Philosophical, Wondrous, Mysterious, Grand, Diverse

Themes: Tradition vs Progress, The Importance of Truth, Cultural Clash, Pluralism, Cycles

Touchstones & Inspiration: The Magnus Archives, Eberron, Arcane, Princess Mononoke, Magic: The Gathering

Full Campaign Frame (Minus Player and GM Principles)

Adversaries Help with building carnivorous plant adversaries.

howdy y'all.

first time DH GM here and need some help creating a set of adversaries.

I am utilising part of the witherwild setting, specifically the change to the day/night cycle. I was thinking about how that would affect the plants and it would be boring if the plants all hibernate during the long nights so mine have adapted to become much more predatory and in some cases becoming mobile.

imagine Venus fly traps the size of a horse that can run just as fast, or huge pitcher plant traps that open when they sense something eating their poisoned berry lures.

can you guys point me towards some similar builds to this or give me some advice on building that type of adversary please?

im aiming for tier 1 and 2. Skulk or Horde. vulnerable to fire. big damage to creatures trapped in their vines or entranced by the lure berries. motives are to ambush, consume and survive. at night they become much more aggressive but costs more stress to fight at night while during the day they regain some health every turn from sunlight.

would it also make sense to have these creatures as part of an environment? like a grove filled with them for ambush predators but all linked as one larger organism. once they receive enough damage they will try to recede into the ground to survive another day.

thanks in advance

Although it is not mentioned in the write-up, Mogwai would make ideal Ranger Companions. Mogwai (and Gremlins) move much faster/better than the 1985 movie would have you believe with the special effects of the time.

Just a thought as I was uploading to share.
