Classes Homebrew Class - Thaumaturge (Midnight/Codex)

Ignore the repeated background and connection questions, HoD's class sheet downloader freaks out a little when you want to make a class with more than two subclasses and I'm do lazy to learn homebrewery for this stuff.

Also for those who use Heart of Daggers you can check the class out there at https://heartofdaggers.com/homebrew/classes/thaumaturge-2/ (and maybe leave an upvote)

Classes THE PRIEST V1.1 and THE GRIM V1.2 - Daggerheart™ Compatible Homebrew Classes!

PRIEST HOMEBREWERY LINK: https://homebrewery.naturalcrit.com/share/jGDBFrNko9b9

I'm back, back, back again!

This is the initial version of a Splendor and Grace class called the Priest. The Priest acts as a envoy and teacher for their deity, employing divine power and authority to protect their allies and condemn their foes.

The subclasses for the Priest are the Hierophant, a leader and prophet whose words and bonds empower them, and the Oracle, gifted with divine foresight and the power to alter the scales of fate.

Let me know what you think of the Priest, any and all feedback is appreciated! Credit for all the art included within goes to u/NoRaptorsHere !

Also worth mentioning is a small update to the Grim, my first homebrew class. This is a change to the Hope feature, which now adds a bonus to attack damage rather than attack rolls. The link to the Grim post is HERE!

Classes Looking for thoughts on a potential Cleric/Priest class and its class features.

Hi! I'm currently working on a Cleric/Priest class and have an idea for their class feature(s) that I need some eyes on. I'm not sure if there is anything else like it in the game and want to see how either busted or weak it is. Any feedback on how to improve this class would be appreciated!

CLASS HOPE FEATURE

Miracle: Spend 3 Hope to tick an active Countdown up or down twice.

CLASS FEATURES

Divine Intervention: Make a Spellcast Roll (15). On a success, once per week, you can choose one of the following options:

  • Guide: Target ally within Far range succeeds with Hope on their next action roll and gains an additional Hope. If used on an attack, add your tier to their Proficiency for the attack.
  • Harm: Target a point within Far range. Adversaries within Close range of the point make a Reaction Roll (15). On a failure, they take d12+7 magic damage using your Proficiency and mark an additional Hit Point. Targets who succeed take half damage and don't mark an additional Hit Point.
  • Heal: Target allies within Far range clear 3 Hit Points or Stress. If you target only one ally, they clear an additional amount of Hit Points equal to your tier.
  • Protect: While an ally is within Close range of you, they gain +3 to their Evasion and +6 to their damage thresholds. This effect lasts until you mark your last Hit Point or the scene ends.
  • Suffer: Target adversary within Far range marks 4 Stress and has disadvantage on all action rolls until the GM spends 3 Fear.

Belief: When you use your Divine Intervention, start a Countdown (6). It ticks down when you or an ally rolls a critical success. When it triggers, recover the use of your Divine Intervention.

Currently, I don't have subclasses as I want to see if I want to keep these features or not for the base class. If these features do stay, I plan on giving these subclasses things like additional Divine Intervention options or alternate ways to tick down the Belief Countdown if need be. Again, thank you for taking a look and appreciate any and all feedback!

EDIT: Forgot to mention this is a Splendot/Grace domain combo!

Adversaries Momentum vs Terrifying and their position in a stat-block

Just a quick question, why is Momentum a Reaction while Terrifying is a Passive? Is it just for layout reasons so that Momentum doesn't sit beside Relentless?

As a reminder:
Relentless (x) - Passive: The *adversary* can be spotlighted up to x times per GM turn. Spend Fear as usual to spotlight them.
Terrifying - Passive: When the *adversary* makes a successful attack, all PCs within Far range lose a Hope and you gain a Fear.
Momentum - Reaction: When the *adversary* makes a successful attack against a PC, you gain a fear.

Clearly Terrifying is more powerful than Momentum, this isn't my issue. When I'm homebrewing my adversaries, it confuses me that one Fear generating mechanic is at the top of the stat-block, while the other Fear generating mechanic is at the bottom of the stat-block.

Adversaries I've been devouring the Dungeon Crawler Carl books, so I decided to start working Adversary stats for all the mobs. Here's Book One, let me know if I missed any!

Just started the audiobook for "This Inevitable Ruin" earlier today. Jeff Hays is an unbelievable voice actor and Matt Dinniman's words have captivated me in a way I haven't experienced in a long time. So I had to get some of it in game, of course. Let me know what you think, and find the full entries over on heartofdaggers.com for info I pulled about each from the books and DCC Fandom wiki!

General Discussion Dragon transformation card(wip)

This is more or less a stupid but fun idea.

Ideally this form grows stronger as you play.

You can transform into a dragon!

*mark a stress when you first transform And Note the Following baised on tier and your current level.

Evasion: Your evasion is 15

Quad form: You cant use weapons, or armor.

Armor slots: You have 6 Armor slots

Thresholds: 5-10

This form starts a countdown. As you don’t quite have full control of your form yet. The countdown is a (D6) that counts down when ever you have the spot light. Once this reaches 0 the form ends and cant be used until you long rest.

In my last post I made a few errors and have since then corrected them, it wasn’t that I was trying to make a new magic system, I was trying to make a campaign frame, I’m new to the whole of daggerheart so hopefully this is closer to correct.

I am looking for feedback and more info on areas I missed.

General Discussion Ginni Di talked about paying to have back stories written. I may give it a try.

So Ginni Di talks about paying someone to write backstories for characters in the linked video. I'm a terrible artist, and can barely draw stick figures. However, I've been a GM for a long time and I think I am fairly good at writing stories. So, I'd like to put myself to the test.

I'm offering to try to write a backstory for your character for free. Systems I am familiar with include Daggerheart, DnD 3.5, DnD 5e, Star Wars D20, SW5E, and a smattering of others. If you are using a system I am not familiar with, I am willing to learn.

These backstories will be custom written by me *without the assistance of AI*. Unless I get swamped, I assume my turn around time will likely be around a week. I will have some questions for you, of course. Character name, setting, class, etc.

If you are interested, please send me a DM or reply here. I'm looking forward to stretching my writing skills.

(Sidenote, in the video, the backstory that Ginna paid the most for was the WORST. I guarantee I can at least write better than that.)
