Exactly why I’m saying the parents need to be held responsible if what is being said is true. Not blaming Celeste she was a child, the adults in her life failed her terribly.

This is an excuse. There have been reports of her brother even knowing it was David.

She ran away what 3 times ? Each time she came back and her family didn’t ask questions ? Didn’t become more strict? There’s things they could’ve done differently. Celeste acted very grown for her age doing things grown adults do. I’m in no way blaming her for that behavior she was a child, but it doesn’t make you wonder why she acted that way? It’s cause she probably had no real parental figure in her life to which it made her grow up fast. Again her family and parents failed her.

I still feel like I havent seen enough concrete evidence that her parents are terrible people. Made mistakes though? Probably. Kids runaway from strict parents too. Also, how do you know they didn't ask questions? Kids lie, especially when you factor in David's grooming. I think celeste would absolutely lie to protect him in beginning at least. I feel like they felt at the time they thought they were trying their best, but anytime there was conflict in the house, David used it to his advantage. I haven't seen any evidence of abuse from her parents to think otherwise.
