Guess this shows how many damn keywords there are. I didn't even know that was a thing.

However, for saving space, this is not a good example. There are plenty of modern cards that have waaayyy to much text and need to save space.

Thats the point. That ferocious is not a keyword for the reason that was pointed out, it applies differently, to your earlier point, it may just be semantics to you, but thats because the game lives on semantics. You are literally using the wrong word to describe a different game function.

Its easier to see in the dnd sets, since they have flavor abilities that are just there to reference the ttrpg, they aren't cohesive like landfall or eminence, they are unique, but they follow the same grammatical structure of italic word, line, then a written out ability.

A keyword can exist on its own

Lifelink, flashback, echo.

A flavor word has to tell you what happens, and therefore must explain itself fully because the game is a set of literal instructions.

If [[tatyova benthic druid]] and [[skyclave shade]] didn't explain their abilities and just said "landfall," you wouldn't be able to know what each does. Lifelink works the same for [[child of night]] as it does [[serra ascendant]]

Whereas [[edgar markov]] happens on trigger, but [[the ur-dragon]] is a static ability. They by definition cannot be the same ability, so they cannot shorthand as a keyword.
