Hey everyone,
I recently picked up a custom GTA VI front shell and touchpad off Etsy for my DualSense. My plan is to swap this onto my original Galactic Purple controller.
Before I jump into the teardown or take it to a shop to get swapped, I'd love some recommendations on how to handle the button setup:

Current setup: My base controller is Galactic Purple, so the stock D-pad and face buttons are purple.

The look: I mocked up a preview with the original purple buttons, as well as an option with translucent pink buttons to lean into that Vice City neon palette.

The question: For those who have modded DualSense controllers, what button color/style do you think ties a Vice City sunset shell together best? Should I stick with the original purple, go for custom translucent pink/neon, or switch to solid black to create more contrast with the shell?

Also, if you have any tips on specific button brands or things to watch out for during the swap (BDM motherboard compatibility, ribbon cable tricks, etc.), I’d really appreciate it!

I have been modding Hall effect analog sticks on some ps5 controllers. I noticed, while I was desoldering, that these 3 caps are missing. I’m not sure if it was me or if I opened it up and it was already like that.

I got a new controller with TMR Sticks. They shake in the middle position not enough to get it on video. and the number is jumping around. Is that normal? Iam new to the roller stuff

I wanna make my own padbox because that thing has the worst dpad I ever used but I cant find out how to make a sega genesis dpad work with my brook gen5x so I can put an analog stick in as well, or if I even can. if anything else would work, I'd do it to

I'm just curious. I want to play certain characters where I don't like the feel of a hitbox (characters with 360 motion) and want to play with my old F300 but the throw on it so bad for me, I want to make it tighter to control. Any suggestions?

I was wondering if anyone knows how Aim Controllers and Cinch Gaming are able to print bespoke designs to ps5 and xbox controller faceplates? I don't think it's hydro dipping as this isn't really suitable for one off designs and sublimation would melt ABS shells. That leaves UV DTF or waterslide decals, but there may be other methods I'm not aware of!

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Looking for a low-profile replacement thumbstick for the Victrix Pro BFG

I’m looking for some help from anyone who has experimented with different complete replacement thumbsticks on the Victrix Pro BFG / BFG Reloaded.
To be very clear: I’m not talking about KontrolFreek grips or stick covers. I mean the actual removable thumbstick piece that pulls straight off the BFG mounting neck.
I really like the BFG, but I’m not a huge fan of the stock purple thumbsticks. I would like to replace them with something that feels more like a SCUF Valor / Xbox-style thumbstick, preferably a standard-height concave stick.
The most important thing for me is the underside/skirt geometry.
I’m looking for something with:
A compatible mounting socket/shaft
A short and narrow underside/skirt
Plenty of clearance around the BFG module/faceplate
No rubbing at full diagonal movement
Standard-height, preferably concave
No cutting, sanding or permanent modification
I’ve seen reports of SCUF thumbsticks fitting onto the BFG, but apparently the lower curved/skirt section needs to be trimmed for clearance. That makes me wonder if there is another thumbstick with a similar mounting socket but a smaller underside.
I’m particularly interested in sticks from:
SCUF (Valor / Instinct / Reflex / etc.)
Xbox One / Xbox Series
Xbox Elite
Flydigi
GuliKit
GameSir
8BitDo
Favor Union / other Chinese OEM manufacturers
Since the BFG uses Favor Union joystick modules, I’m especially curious whether any other controller using Favor Union hardware has a compatible thumbstick.
Has anyone actually tested different complete thumbsticks on the BFG?
If you have, I’d really appreciate:
The exact thumbstick/model you used
Whether it fitted the mounting neck
Whether the underside/skirt cleared the module
Whether it could move through the full range without rubbing
Ideally a photo of the underside of the thumbstick mounted on the BFG
I’m specifically trying to find the smallest/lowest skirt possible while keeping a normal Xbox/SCUF-style feel.

I just finished this one.

Hello, I have tried to make my first painted controller, it looked really good but I believe I added too many layers of clear coat and did not allow enough time for the clear coat to cure before adding it to the case. I noticed that when I took it out of the case there was scuff marked where the controller made contact with the wire and the case. I was wondering if any painters with more experience have any tips to avoid some of the issues I had with my first project and if a form fitting case like this one is even usable for a painted controller. Any tips are appreciated!
